Behind the Scenes Tips

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could give me some useful information for making a behind the scenes style level. I don't want it to look like a factory level though. I want it to look like the levels where Chell and Wheatley are escaping from GLaDoS. I have looked on the Valve Developers Wiki, this gives some useful information but not enough. I would highly appreciate it if someone could tell me what to do.

Thanks,
Joe

See here: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Prop_Types. It's better to use prop_static if you can.

Great video guide! I also like to use vents and pipes, but that depends on the map style. You could also try to construct a moving fan and add the projected texture. I also find it useful to google pictures to get inspiration. Yet again, if you want to stay true to the Portal universe you could always see how Valve use different object and layout.
