EDIT 08/29/2010
This thread is obsolete. We have moved to a new Download Database system and this thread no longer applies!

The download database is now online and active, you can get to it via the link at the top of the forum.

Please upload all [Release] and [WIP] maps there! Having all of our community releases in a single place will go a long way to keep this site alive and more active. Also, you may want to provide a link to your Download DB file in your release thread.

Maximum file size is 50 mb. Thanks, and get mapping!

UPDATE: I removed the older notes here since they are no longer relevant. Basically we were (and still kind of are) having some issues with the download database, but it's nothing crippling. If you ever wonder why some larger files do not download as nice and easy filenames, this bug is why.

I added a Work In Progress section to the Download Database, so people can post their WIPs in there now. Remember, you might want to delete the file once it is released as full! Enjoy.

CATEGORIES ADDED
I have added a few more categories to help split up the maps so they are easier to find and look for.

  • Tutorial Maps. All of the files that house tutorial examples go here, be sure to check out the Wiki for the relevant tutorial.

  • Community Spotlight. Epic map releases and contest winning maps get moved here, this is the cream of the crop in terms of maps.

  • Contest Submission. The monthly map contest maps go here, as well as the (upcoming) mappacks, so if you want really innovative maps or the ones to vote on, look here.

These new categories are monitored! So if you try to upload your map to the Spotlight section because you think we won't notice and your map will get more recognition, it won't. However, you will get a yellow card!

Please put [RELEASE] or [WIP] in the subject heading of your Release or WIP thread, so that the moderators can easily see which threads need to be moved! Thanks.
