I'll post how I did this when I get the chance but I wanted to more or less work on my map tonight.

nice map though, fun to see the first portal-style portal map.
Just tested it, very nice work NullSoldier! It was too easy & simple, but it felt very "canon". Again, nice work.
Althought some bugs:
When placing a portal at one of GLaDOS cameras and placing the other portal at another place, it doesn't fall down like it used to in the original maps.
You can place portals on the metal surfaces behind the locked door.
There are some texture/clipping error behind the locked door. Go into that room and try to get out of it again, and you'll see the problem.
Overall though, nice map! Keep it up Null!
In the mean time, don't put them on metal if you do your a cheater! =P
I'll try to have the first guide out tonight on how I made it. The texture problems in the back are just me being lazy and taking away the "nodraw".
Also, I cant for the life of me find the box, I'm looking in props_detail, and it's not there. Again, is there another entity to be used?
Sry if these are newbie questions, it's been a few years since i've mapped.
As for the camera stuff, when editing the entity go to the "Flags" tab and make sure "Autostart" has a checkbox next to it.
thank you very much.
I'm new to hl2 in this sense, I only started playing it with portal.
So I dont know what to do with the bsp files. It seems portal wants bmz files?
any info will be much appriciated, I want to play more portal!
Then, go into portal, and enable the devoloper console:
'Options>Keyboard>Advanced>Enable Dev Console'
Press the ~ key, then type:
"map <nameofmap>"
it should start 'autofill'ing it out for you if it's in the right place.
Does that help at all?

Just load his map into your portal directory.
(Mine is as follows:

"map "it should start 'autofill'ing it out for you if it's in the right place.

Excellent, that worked perfectly!
So, i wonder then why no-one is able to create these bmz files which portal seems to accept?
Will valve release a new dev tool for this?
Otherwise, yeah, valve is surely going to be releasing the bmz map compiler with the editor.
I hope it does.
Hi everybody.
I would suggest to make the platform with the box on it a little bit bigger, as it was hard for me to get off the box with out falling off the platform. Probably just me though...
Thanks for the installation intel too, someone should make a sticky with that.

See, i just fell onto the box, and put a portal underneath myself and the box to get off the platform:)
