They are displacements, make a room with 4 sides and start displacementing

Yep its strange right? I have been making lots of maps, and also still dont know anything about scripting either

If you started with hammer for portal 2 it isn't really strange 
Displacements are not widely used in custom portal 2 map

Hey Beecake!
Well, it is truly dificult to believe, mate! I remember many of the thousands of tutorials I watched or read talking about displacements. Also as spongylover123 said it's in thee VDC (didn't you read it completely yet? I did...).
