Okay, first I believe it is custom to tell my name. My (online) name is -IworkWithp0rtals-! As well as my lack of English. But all and all I love portal. Its been long since iv played a game that has had me replaying many, many, MANY times. But then again Valve usually catches me in the loop. (: I have many questions for you, and feel as if it would be splendid if you could answer them. (:

First Things First:
I use Portal World Editor (v3) xP
I have a cracked version of portal to make it standalone, so I didn't know if I could get hammer for free, and really I have no idea on how to use Hammer.

Hammer questions:
1. Can I get and use Hammer with a cracked version?
2. Is there a (GOOD) tutorial to teach me how to make portal maps using Hammer well?

Portal World Editor Questions:
1: I know how to use it, and save it. But can I put my save file on the internet so people can download & play it.?(As long as they have all the portal things)
2: Is there a way to add scripting to it, either during, or after making? I'd like to make an ending.

### Main Big Question:
Is there Generally a way I can put my maps online so people can play them?

Any help is appreciated.

Au 'voir(:

  1. No...

Pay Valve for creating the great game that you wish to pay.

Also, cracked version won't allow you to work with Hammer or anything of that nature...pay valve the money.

Do I really? I really like portal, but hardly think its worth paying for portal. And I dont know if Steam would cost money as well. Iv beat it many times, and it doesnt have much more play threw value to me.

But on the original download page (link to WAREZWAREZWAREZ removed. -Hober) it says "You can't really put them on the internet but you can save and put the save on the internet."

Which I dont get why you could do that unless it would work for others to play. I can make a map, save it, take the save file then move it to my save file in my Portal folder, then load it and play. So why wouldnt others be able to?

If you like it that much, then pay for it...rather than obtain it another way.

Steam is free, however Portal is not.

if you draw your maps onto graph paper using biro (not pencil) & then post scans here, we can import them into hammer for you. the graph paper grid helps to computerize them, so do not use lined or plain paper.

Okay. That sounds great. But I dont know what Biro is. Sorry im so clueless. xP

Uhm. Well I can get maps offline, move them into my bonus maps folder then play them. So could I download hammer and make maps? Possibly? Is hammer free? Then move them to my folder for testing?

And also if I can, is there a good tut for learning this?

-IworkWithp0rtals-: Enjoy your perma-ban. Not only did you say you had played a pirated version of Portal and gotten many hours of enjoyment out of it (but still couldn't find it in your heart to buy it...?), you linked to a pirated version, and asked for further warez so you could get an illegal copy of Hammer. You win the Pirate of the Fucking Year award, dude.

mbortolino: You have been warned. When someone has a hacked version of Portal and can't make maps because of it, the response isn't to offer to make them for them, the response is to report them. Which brings us to...

Lostprophetpunk: I gave you a little bit of shit at first, but you're learning the rules around here quick. Thanks for alerting us to this shithole of a thread.

Have a nice day.
