I've been to Disneyland a couple times and overall it's not too bad
Though I wouldn't exactly call it the happiest place on earth...
Regardless, after you've trudged through the corporate advertising, subtle mental messages and the fact Micky mouse is about as fun and relevant as a sack of potatoes, I hope you enjoy the rides! ESPECIALLY if you're in Florida. Go to universal studios. Go on the subway crash ride. You will love it so much. It seemed so realistic when I went!

I went to Florida when I was 5. All I remember was a supercool earthquake simulator.
Here's a video. Spoilers!:

Now, they replaced it with some fake "bones" tour, with some American ass commentarying the whole expirience. Like everything, Hollywood ruined a perfectly good ride.
It's so much cooler IRL though. You feel the lash of water, the heat of the fires and the air blown around the set, so cool.

That ride is still there. I remember it exactly as it was when I was little, with 3 key differences:
-
The beginning has a 'hologram' of a dude who originally came up with the idea for the attraction. (who I would assume is dead now given his 'hologram' was really old lookin') It was neat, but I think my being older ruined it a bit because I could instantly tell it was not a real guy. (people don't glow lol)
-
There used to be one person who helped with the second half, in which people would be called from the audience (I can never tell if some of these are actual audience people or employee implants) to do various things on stage. That still happens, but the person is missing. Said person would be up high, and fall off one of the sets into a pool. Doesn't happen anymore, prolly for safety reasons.
-
The ending is missing the truck. I was scared shitless when I was a kid, and the ceiling crashed open and BOOM goes the flaming oil truck. The heat was fucking incredible. Now the ceiling is pre-open, the truck is down into the chamber, and nothing happens with it.
(this is in Universal Studios, right? it's called "EARTHQUAKE!" and I don't remember anything similar in Disney.)
I remember, a looooong time ago, they had a King Kong ride that was so awesome. Now it's the Mummy, and I hate coasters (especially dark, fire-infested coasters) so I went on thinking it was like the King Kong ride and got scared shitless.
Have fun in florida reep!

Universal Studios, you're drunk. You're not Disney World. Go home.
But Universal Studios is still an epic theme park :c Plus since reep is (probably) going to Florida for this trip, It's technically on topic.

Universal > Disneyland.
Also when I was at Disneyland, I remember being in a restaurant. My favorite character is Pluto, even now.
I remember pulling his tail. Multiple times. He put his mouth over my face several times. I think at one people the person in the suit pleaded me to stop through the mouth thing.
that is my only memory of Disneyland. All other memories are of Universal because it was so much more interactive.

Gotta love tomorrowland. The old stuff that used to be in there (~60's/70's) was about as awesome as Aperture's boasts (and about as hollow).
Tomorrowland is still my favorite, I love the retro futuristic look. In general, the Magic Kingdom is the best park, the other parks are just dull. Yeah, they have their one awesome attraction, but they can't beat the Magic Kingdom! Will upload more shots later, I took like 400 pictures.
