Import some texture from Portal 1 even if I don't own it ?

Hello. I was wondering if I could import textures from Portal 1 even If i do not own Portal 1.
There is some textures I'd like to bring back in my portal 2 levels.
As exemple, i'd like to bring back the texture "effects/light_rail_beam1" that I can't dins anymore in portal 2. i'd like to also bring back the "office glasses" used by the Aperture sience guys to watch you during the tests.
Well, in general I was wondering if I could import all the textures from portal 1 into portal even if i do not own portal 1. Is there an existing thing like this ?
I need some textures from Portal 1 who are not here anymore in Portal 2, but since I do not own anymore Portal 1, i cannot "extract" the textures into Portal 2.
Can anyone help me doing this ?

I think youll find thats whats technically called 'illegal'. Just buy the game, its ridiculously cheap on steam.

I shouldn't have sell P1 to buy P2 then and should have keep P1.
I'm gonna order it again then...
(but anyway that dosen't explain how to do)

im pretty sure its illegal, but im no lawyer.
Once youve got it, extract the vmt and vmf from the gcf, put vmt and vmf in portal 2 materials directory, change the vmt file path to point to the vmf and done

If you want the observation room glass. The glass in Portal 2 is a model. So you dont have to import that. And theres this beam that's called strider laser, use that.

I don't find any "strider laser" texture. The only ones I find with searching "strider" are "strider_bluebeam" and "strider_mussle".

About the observation room glass, thant you it works fine. :thumbup:

I just want to know what texture to use for make an "energy rail" for my moving platforms. I tryied "strider_bluebeam" but it dosen't look that good (or I didn't rescale fine the texture to the model). Any tips with that ?
