I am searching for specific models for my mappack, but GameBanana is insufficient for what I am trying to find. What other websites contain custom content compatible for portal2? I am have a ton of searching and I keep getting irrelevant crap. Either my search tags are not clear enough or Google is being a dick like always

The old Garry's Mod site (pre-workshop) has P2-compatible model files. Just be sure not to use anything that depends on an .ani (e.g. almost all human models, replacements for important NPCs such as Alyx and Barney, etc).

What, specifically, are you searching for? This very website has a variety of files, so you may be able to find something here, but, like I said, it really depends on what you're searching for.

a helicopter. l found a bunch of stuff in the gmod workshop on steam. Gonna try and see what is compatible. I imagine there will be functionality problems, but it's only for a cutscene

On a related note, I am also working on a map about the multiverse device, but it will be much different, with mainly cave Johnson rather than glados and a completely different setting and plot.

okay, so apparently all addons for Gmod are .GMA files and I have no idea what to do with those or if they are even compatible with portal 2.
ideas?!

Download and run the "Gmad extractor" and then import the addon. It should convert into the same format source game use placed in a subfolder of Addons.
