Hello! So I got custom sounds to actually work with Pakrat, (I packed it and everything), except my sounds are way to quiet in-game.. I have the volume at 10, and I recorded them at a pretty loud volume, except in game, even with full volume in my settings, my custom sounds (My voice) aren't able to be heard easily..

Does anyone know a way to make custom sounds louder in-game?
Thanks in advance

Try setting them to "play everywhere" (you might be too far away), or create a SoundScript with a louder volume.

I don't know what's your tool like. I use Adobe Audition. It's free and it's enough for beginners. You should try to increase the volume of the sounds with the tool and then export it.
Another method is simply more ambient_generics...I learned it from other person on the forum. It really goes louder. Just notice don't put too much.I add one more ambient_generic for each sound.
One thing you should notice is that your own voice ,if without proper processing, might not be welcomed by players (of cuz may also be adored...)I've tried to listen to my own voice in the game. Untolerable.

Note that Audition is only free for 30 days, after which you need to purchase the full version. For small things like amplification, try Audacity (which is completely free, although not as powerful).

thanks guys, so how would one go about using soundscripts to make certain sounds louder? I don't quite understand the information on the Valve Developer Community page
