1) Use our own wiki, and maybe some of their images if need be
2) Use their wiki, which would be where the "wiki" link at the top bar goes to. And maybe we could get a link-back, that would depend on how far the unofficial partnership goes.
3) Have our wiki link to theportalwiki.com for some of the articles. More content, and we get our own wiki.
Our own wiki? [Poll]
The original site actually got an article; we've yet to make/receive one for this new site thus far, but since we're still in early dev (not even a month old), that's fine with me.
It should be noted that ThinkingWithPortals has a link back to their website, and I feel that if we grow as we intend to, it's inevitable that we will get the same treatment.
And besides; we can help bring one another traffic and exposure, and I'm sure that they (thePortalWiki staff [and myself, already an editor]) would love to see some activity on the Wiki.

If this was a merge, I'd mostly be for it because it'd kickstart nicely. Otherwise, I'm pretty ambiguous - why link users to a different wiki, no matter the quality, without any reason for them to ever come back?
A valid concern.

That's one tiny link for man*. Hopefully one giant clickback for mankind.
*It took me about a minute and a half to find it.
Why not have our own wiki, but link it to theportalwiki too? Like how TF2 wiki links to it. This gives us both the advantage of a new site, and gets more feedback. As a result theportalwiki gets more hits too. it's win-win!
We can suggest wikis, sure. but if you want a wiki, you make it, or you support it. we may as well be linking to the VDC.

Actually, we WERE going to link to the VDC lol
The links would be to content that's not really relevant to our site. For example, GLaDOS bio, specific Test Chambers, etc. I was already planning to link to the VDC for specific entity info, or at least consider it. I don't see why there would be a big problem with this, but that's why we're taking a vote I guess.

not only is it silly on a site basis, but also on a content basis.
on a site basis, we lose visitors to competing wikis
on a content basis, they will migrate to the VDC regardless, as they have more content, and the same content.
it's illogical on competing, or content basis's. full stop.

Then why do we bother paying for our forum?

Your not thinking this through. Most of our content will prolly revolve around tutorials, and you can have an abundance of those because each person will explain it differently and certain people like certain tutorials.
Is there a chance of loss of views? Well if we don't link, we won't have many to begin with, so w/e we lose will be outweighed by what we gain.

for a better community than the inactive inexpirienced mAL, and the flaming TWP.

why can't we have a tutorial forum then? :I

I was thinking of a tutorial section on the forums too, but IDK, but it would feel weird, and a wiki is much cleaner, and looks professional.
yet a wiki is a whole other situation. a wiki demands more content than forums. a lot more content.
and the spam will be plentiful. now, TWO sites to moderate.
and if we join with another, we may as well not be a forum at all, as the traffic will redirect to them for tutorials.
Screw it.

I dislike TWP as well.
