Ok.
I thought that we all should try and contribute some portal plans.

Such as if you wanted an idea for a certain area you could come here and take a look at the portal plans and see which one suits it.

I've started working on some, not very good pictures but they give an idea.
It's a very big picture so i won't upload it with the img tags.

Design your ideas even if they are just little crap ones made in paint, every plan helps all of us to make better and harder puzzles.

Trt not to go into too much detail though heh.

Quote:
- Shifting puzzle room (walls, floor, and ceiling all move and rearrange).
- Buttons on walls/ceilings.
- trigger_gravity puzzles
- Jump pads/truster puzzles
- Physics puzzles where the player has to move objects around to seesaw puzzle components, and/or "power up" things (like the car battery puzzle in Highway 17).
- Boxes that explode after a certain time limit
- Boxes that can ONLY be moved via portals

Some general ideas, haven't laid these down into drawings yet.

  • Shifting puzzle room (walls, floor, and ceiling all move and rearrange).
  • Buttons on walls/ceilings.
  • trigger_gravity puzzles
  • Jump pads/truster puzzles
  • Physics puzzles where the player has to move objects around to seesaw puzzle components, and/or "power up" things (like the car battery puzzle in Highway 17).
  • Boxes that explode after a certain time limit
  • Boxes that can ONLY be moved via portals

I would go on, but I don't want to ruin some of the fun.

People that use these should try to modify them so they arn't that obvious.

i had a similar idea, msleeper. there would be a huge room with a fling puzzle that eventually brought you to a button. The button would rearrange various parts of the room, exposing an energy ball puzzle. It would continue that way, getting progressively more difficult.
