So, I have my skybox set to > Quote:

sky_l4d_c4m1_hdr

and a 3d skybox. But when I look to the left wall with the skybox, whatever I look at 'drags' up into it. For example: Screenshot (2).png

Don't use that skybox, it's broken. I would suggest downloading one from Gamebanana.

I've considered this, but I don't know where I would put the texture/if there is any process to make it known to the 'map options' too. If you can guide me, please.

Nevermind: I now have another dillema. I downloaded this skybox (it is for Counter Strike but I thought hey this might work!), I don't know what to enter in the map properties for it. http://css.gamebanana.com/textures/2377 . It is in my texture selection.

In the skybox property of Map Properties, if you installed the materials correctly, you should write "desert_canyon" (without quotes.)

If it doesn't work, you need to tell me the path of where the materials are located.

The skybox looks great, it works too! (IM SOO HAPPY NOW) but I still get that 'dragging' thing.

Also, I wanted to know, is it possible to disable shadows on some objects. This is probably the dumbest question ever though...

You need to edit the VMT files and make two changes: change the shader from Sky to UnlitGeneric and change $ignorez from 1 to 0.

Find the "disable shadows" property on a prop and set it to "yes".

The 'drag effect' still occurs to the left and back of where I stand.

Did you change it on all six of the textures?

EDIT: Yes, sorry, I meant VMT.

Yes I did, and according to where I spawn in the hammer view, it is the right and front sides where it 'drags'.

I made some changes to the Lost Coast skybox vmt and got it to work. I hope it helps:

ORIGINAL
||```
"Sky"
{
   // HDR basetexture
   "$hdrbasetexture" "skybox/sky_lostcoast_hdrlf"

   // non-HDR basetexture
   "$basetexture" "skybox/sky_lostcoastlf"

        "$nofog" 1
        "$ignorez" 1
}

```||
MODIFIED VERSION
||```
UnlitGeneric
{
   // HDR basetexture
   "$hdrbasetexture" "skybox/sky_lostcoast_hdrlf"
   // non-HDR basetexture
   "$basetexture" "skybox/sky_lostcoastlf"
        "$nofog" 1
}
```||
