Skybox fog

Is it possible to have a white skybox with light, but also have have fog in an area?

Yes. You just need to put in the skybox texture, then in map properties make it "sky_white" and put a light_environment in. After that, add the global_ents instance and trigger one of the many fog controllers with a logic_auto, onmapspawn.

I tried that with the skybox texture, but it still gives me fog, instead of a bright white light

If you have a light_environment the skybox should light your map and let you have fog at the same time...

I have a light_environment and fog_controller out and I can't see the sky either. Is there a special property that isn't working, or is it a bug?

I think you have one or the other, but in valve's maps they have bright roofs and fog in the broken elevators, any way, I just used an env_sun with a texture sky_white, I think theres a problem with my vrad or vvis

an env_sun is just one sprite that looks like the sun. It doesn't create a sky texture or anything like that.
