Okay so I can't seem to find the standard 1024x1024 white wall texture through hammer. I've looked for it several times, through the whole list of textures, and it's just not there. The closest I can find is a "dirty" version of that texture.

This is what I am looking for:

I need it in order to make a 'clean' test chamber, and I don't know how to extract game files.

Any help would be much appreciated.

You can find out the name of a particular texture in-game by pointing your crosshairs directly at it, then using the console command "mat_crosshair". Once you have the name, you can search for it in the texture browser in Hammer.

I have encountered times when the texture I want shows up black in the texture browser, although it is still there, and works when placed on a brush. Restarting Hammer usually solves the problem.

EDIT: That worked, I found it. Turns out it's in 512x512 res not in 1024x1024 as its "dirty" counterpart texture... that's a bit weird. Well anyways, problem solved, thanks for the help.
