This chamber is to test the different ways to fly. It also includes a new way to fly that involves an enhanced tractor beam.

Fairly easy puzzle. Looked pretty good overall. Not sure what the enhanced tractor beam was for as I didn't need it to finish the map.

hmm... if you don't mind could you post a video or something of how you solved it. I had let the other parts have a few ways to solve it but I thought I had nailed getting to the exit down.

I could probably do a demo for you later today. I don't have any recording software. Will that work for you?

I think I did the same thing as rock_n_rage did.

I used the repulsion gel to bounce off the angled panel, off the floor, and to the exit.

Cool idea though

Well my hats goes off to you all. It just goes to show the mapper does not always win.

Well I hope you guys at least enjoyed the map.

This is my playthrough of this map. In order to not influence the opinion of anyone, I won't say what I think about this map yet. Have fun watching the video and get your own opinion about the map for now

My feedback:
Do not read if you are judge!

||This map looked like something I would produce as a mock-up chamber to test an element, rather than a polished chamber I would release for a competition - otherwords it looked rushed and it's an: "i'll texture each of these walls a different texture" attitude.

The puzzle was way too easy to be any good, plus I think I skipped a whole area of the puzzle because I used the angled panels to jump at some speed gel which got me to the exit.

The best thing you did was add in the GLaDOS lines to add a bit of ambience and humour. Other than that, pretty average / under average map.||

I notice you didn't switch soundscapes on entering the main chamber, so you had the elevator soundscape playing the whole time.

Patches, please post the intended solution. I've played it through, and I did it the same way as everyone else which is obviously unintended and not fun. Judges are marking your map down because they are skipping the puzzle. I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt and take your intended solution into consideration while making my judgement, but I can't find a single instance of someone solving the chamber as it's supposed to be done. To be honest I just don't see what you were going for with the excursion funnel.

Well, I did use the funnel. Is this the intended solution?

I always bounced straight off of the angled panels, so I gave up on the slanted bouncing to the exit (which was my first idea as well). I decided the tractor beam wasn't there for no reason. I did have the blue paint ready on the floor for the slanted bounce. Then I got up in the beam, using the beam, and I quickly placed a portal on the wall so I'd have the beam in two directions next to each other. I got into the beam in the direction towards the exit (the original omitted beam), and got out quickly, to bounce towards the exit

Heh, so no one really did it the intended way. It's quite easily fixed, too.

Just make sure you can't have bounce gel on the floor under the exit. You can simply remove those portable surfaces on that wall, have a glass floor, grating with goo under it etc.

Was a little too easy and short, and yes, I too didn't solve it in the intended solution.
Here's my blindrun:

Below is my feedback:
Feedback
-I didn't use the tractor beam, I just used momentum to bounce up to the ledge.
-Liked the GLaDOS lines, it adds an ambience to the puzzle
-It was kinda creative to catch the cube like that, good job.

Overall, it wasn't that enjoyable. I'll give a 3/5. Good but still needs work. Keep improving! I'm sure you can make better maps in the future.
