[SP] Prison Escape

This is a small Singleplayer map. It was originally intended as a test, but I decided to release it. Maybe you like it! ^^

Put the .bik file to Steam\SteamApps\common\portal 2\portal2\media
After that, put the .bsp file to Steam\SteamApps\common\portal 2\portal2\maps and start playing the map.

Thanks to Flo2912 for making and inserting the level sign!

Story: Chell is being held in a prison deep in the catacombs of Aperture Science. Try to escape!

I'm playing custom maps and record my first time of playing them. So the run is not perfect and may not use only intended ways, but maybe it can let you see how other people may understand the map or you could just enjoy someone playing this map for entertainment.

Quick question, when you finish the map, is it supposed to go to the ending song screen?

OK, there's quite a lot wrong with this map and it most certainly should not be released as a full map - at least move it to the WIP section. There's many rookie mistakes made.

First, visable nodraw surfaces above the cube dropper. Also, the faithplate doesn't fling the cube, you need to tick the 'vphysics' box in the trigger_catapult's flags I believe, doesn't make the faithplate sound either.

Emancipation grills look awful. The emitter should be in the wall, and only the end should be visable. And the grill itself have misaligned textures.

The map also looks very bland. Like 2 or 3 textures used in the whole map.

Not really much of a puzzle, turrets are pretty much pointless as you can just portal under them. Easy. And as Djinndrache's video showed, you can just throw the cube round the emancipation grill and skip half the 'puzzle' - and I use the word 'puzzle' loosely as there really isn't much to work out.

And, why did I get taken to the ending credits after the map? That was odd. Anyway, 2/5 from me I'm sorry to say. Please take more time in releasing future maps and consider uploading to the WIP section first, as it's clear you're very new to mapping.

When I tried to restart the map via console, I was stuck in a non-moving elevator.

Also once I got flung by the faith plate (which doesn't make sounds), I felt trapped on that side.

Others have said or shown most of what I would have said. An unlimited supply of conversion gel is seldon a good idea. Scrap the whole end to credits idea. Your custom video didn't play for me, but that might be because I put maps in my own mod directory. Nonetheless, files like that should be compiled into the .bsp.

You would have been better off starting this one in WIP. 2/5.
