First, some backstory. This is perhaps the oldest game I recall. The first game to have lifelike 3D. The game that launched the CD-ROM.
The 7th Guest is a puzzle game, wherein you have to solve puzzles throughout the haunted mansion of Henry Stauf, eccentric toymaker with a malevolent intent. During your stay, you learn of the house's past and it's victims.
The puzzles are hard at times. The infamous Infection and Bishops puzzle are by far the hardest.
the game is exceedingly old, and is a MASSIVE pool of ham drama and with plenty of cheese and innuendo. It is not meant to be a kids game by a long shot.
The original games are, by today's standards, typical, or barely 18+ due to one scene, but at that time, were really pushing for more adult games. The sequel is promised to deliver on the ramped-up expectations of today, while maintaining it's iconic tropes.
The 7th Guest and The 11th Hour are both available on Steam now! and are both discounted for the Steam Halloween Sale! even the bundle of the games is discounted!
The 7th Guest: The Collector - Kickstarter!
Now, the reason why I'm posting!
They're launching a Kickstarter, and, well, I'll let the video explain it.
WARNING: IMMENSE AMOUNT OF CHEESE/HAM. ENOUGH TO FEED THE ENTIRE THIRD WORLD. ALSO 1 JUMPSCARE.
I'll certainly be donating to this project myself!
