Here is a theme for you mappers to try out but there is no cake for you because this is not an official contest... still I'd like to see your creativity on this one.

Make a map that embodies that idea. for example, if you solve something in too ninja a fashion, you get thrown back, and the whole puzzle morphs into something harder, right before your eyes. you hear motors whirring, walls becoming non-portable, huge goo pits opening up. fires starting, etc.. glados chides you for thinking you're so special. this doesn't have to be just a single iteration event.

it wouldn't be outlandish to have the gun thrown from your hands and you have to get it... somehow...

but use your creativity. you could do any or none of the things, but just look to the Adams quote for guidance.

actually I planned something like this.
On my map #5, he player completes 3-4 room, then comes an unidentified very hard explosion and the player is forced to turn back. The roms he completed are a mess, ceiling and elements felt down, damaging buttons (they are out of order, blocking doors, new holes in the walls/ceilings, but some button is permanently piushed that needed a CC before etc. The same rooms but new puzzles, like building indicator lines from indicator parts, etc.
