In the chamber im building im planning to put up a monitor or 2
Though when i had setup all objects it didnt show any footage on the screen...

I'm using the func_instance with wheatleys screen,
I've setup a point_camera,
I've setup a camera link, pointing to the camera and to the instance
and i've setup buttons to "enable" the screen (and also pop it out of the wall)

Am i missing something?

Well, when I played Portal 2 and used noclip cheat, I noticed a small room outside the main map that had Wheatley in it looking at a invisible camera. I'm not sure if this is helping or not.

not really, that is the "studio" from where the monitor is filmed,
i've setup that, with the camera and all the other objects, though it wont output the camera's footage to the screens.

Did you try using a trigger to "enable" the monitor?

@ 12.30 he's using the monitor and the recording/camera instance so you can see how he does it.

P.S.
Thank god for internet at work

I manually set up my monitor for my Rick chambers. I tried using the instances, but it seemed to be much simpler to set up my own studio and monitor.

Use a func_monitor for the screen, and dev_tvmonitor1a for the face you want the monitor to be. Position it in the monitor prop, and set the camera name in the keyvalues.

For the studio, set up a black interior, and preferably a visible exterior to find it easily when debugging stuff, place the camera, and the actor/object you want on the monitor.

You dont NEED a black room though, it could be any room.

(I completely forgot about them. Gotta start making that again :O)

I actually managed to figure out what's wrong... it was caused by that the instance monitors are looking for a camera that is called @wheatly_camera fixing that did the trick!

Also I'm making my angrybombs in a Rick chamber aswell.
I managed to create a nice studio with... Fire!

Current Im adding series of animations to the core in synch with the dialog.

"go and have yourselves a little lady break" nods, flirtingly
