The beginnings of my new portal Map
Not really a portal map, this map has puzzles based completely
off of rotation and rotating
there is no portal gun in this map
this level is supposed to turn off the crosshairs at the beginning,
if it doesnt, tell me. if it does work, to get
crosshairs back, type in the console: "cl_drawhud_1"
comments are appreciated. tell me about any problems or bugs!
the big button turns off the little bridge, and right now the
energy ball puzzle works, but it doesnt activate anything.
tunnel at end leads to nowhere. in my final map, it will lead to the
next puzzle/area.
I plan to have about 6 puzzles based off of this in the level.
tell me if you like it, and if you think it would make a good level
dont worry, all puzzles will not be based on rotation in all directions. all of them after the first one will be just rotating left and right

solve the energy pellet puzzle
then solve the cube on the button puzzle
during this, you should not be able to get down on the lower level.
When you get the cube on the button, the walls will dissapear and you can get down.

yeah basically i saw a bunch of checkered board walls and a little cube room area i could spin around, i managed to solve the ball launcher the "incorrect/ninja" way by launching the ball then rotating said little cube room and it just angled it off the bottom of said room right into the catcher, if you want it to only be solved the "right" way you need to deactivate the rotation buttons while a ball is "in-play"
also yeah filter so chell can't stand on it. cuz i managed to walk into the room. the combine wall activated i didn't have the cube, and got stuck there, i steped on the cube and fell down, restarted and solved the ball puzzle. then manage the throw my cube into the room where it fell to the bottom and i could do nothing else. as far as this being a cool "level" then as fractal said there just isn't anything there. as far as you having cool ideas, well then sure, the rotational room thing is cool. but you still gots lots of work to do. ALSO: is the checkard board the texture EVERYONE is getting? cuz it is what i'm getting, if this is the case, atleast texture everything with some sort of generic portal texture so we can distinguish angles and walls and such. hammer uses a default texture anyway (by default) and it seems to be more work to just strip them all off.
Im taking it off the site. I might do a cubemapped version, but i dont know
