Cool Map it was kinda laggy for me though
also dunno if your meant to solve the first puzzle with a sorta bug with the boxes but it seemed pretty weird ... well how i did it anyway
had to use the laser box glitch to solve the second part (3 lasers for the door). if there's a glitchless solution, i couldn't find it. working on the rest now
edit: okay, finished it now. good job on the map! the puzzles' difficulty was very good, pretty tough, but not too hard. i liked it
5/5 keep up the good work, mate
Fun map, though some part, especially the second level, were way too dark.(what is it with fan maps and them always being too dark?)
Especially the first part of the first map, with the funnel, because i thought the white part(where you were suppose to shoot a portal) was water and not stone, so i was quite confused what to do there.
After i got it the rest was fine.
However like the person above my comment i wasn't quite sure how to solve the third part of the first level. Then i found out about the bug(i remember that in some cases the redirections cube couldn't be moved anymore by walking against it after it got hit by a laser, so i guess you used the same principles here?)
Anyway, is this the correct solution?
it lagged me for me quite a bit too
Broken map, serious lag. It's one hundred times smaller than Colours 3, but has the same lag...
Same thing here. Very hard lag in a very simple rooms.
Recommend this here: http://www.tophattwaffle.com/?page_id=420 (Optimizing tutorial)
Please tell us if there is a solution without glitch use, because I couldn't find any.
Also it's way too dark. Especially in the 3rd room I had a hard time seeing what was what.
Also couldn't finish the first puzzle in the 3rd room (the one where you get the cube), and didn't try any further because it wasn't clear if I a) just failed to see the solution, b) missed another hidden redirection cube or c) don't know the glitch needed.
But as far as I can see, 2 cubes and 2 portals aren't enough to solve it.
Had some minor lags, but those could be also caused by fraps (screen recording software, I captured the run, will upload in some days/weeks)
As for the lag, im gonna work on it. Gonna try to fix the lighting problem too. Gonna put it brighter for those that play with low brightness.
There is a way to do it without doing the glitch (the one where you can make cube float mid air).
Here are the solutions

I'll be damned, those (well, the ones for the 3rd room at least) look like beautiful solutions. Gotta try that.
Room 2 solution looks like something M.C. Escher has come up with.
Thanks for the optimization tool link mickyficky!
Concerning the lag... Ive work on it a bit (added skips, hints, area portals etc..) and got it a bit down, but I am still getting some. Ive also tried redoing all my lighting but without any success. Its not a big level and I don't think it's because there's too much objects (entities). Does any one have an idea about whats causing the lag?
-Good
The puzzles were very satisfying to solve, The lasers scattering the room looked very neat.
Different use of the funnel.
-bad
At times, it was a little too crowded to do what needed to be done.
The end light bridge got in the way, I solved it from the bottom, so had to "Side step" it
Stacking cubes can be a bit buggy. The engines fault.

Pretty fun map.
Too laggy to even play, sorry. It's the laggiest map I've ever played...worse than Colours.

Too many sounds going at once. Try killing the sound from all but one of the laser emitters. Playing the same sound many times over at once can cause major issues. I believe this was the problem with the Colours maps.
The first chambers were the hardest imo. The last chamber was a piece of cake after solving the first ones. I had to look for the solution on the first one. Way too hard.
I took out the 3 lasers and tractor beam and everything works fine.. So there is definitively something wrong with them. How do you turn off sound from the emitters or any prop? There's no proprety in them sound related..
There are two air bridges when I tried to get up there, I can't go up, the bridges blocked me.
Tried it after the lag cleaup. Looks are a bit flat, but the real meat is the multilaser puzzles. Some are tight, if mildly obsessive. But puzzle room 2 was beyond good and evil, at least in my case.
In this kind of puzzles, it's all about fitting and stretching lasers in a million tries to get the right perspective... sure kudos about the mistery itself but goddamnit if it becomes tedious.

There is a button on top of the tractor beam that deactivates the bridges. You have to fling the cube around it so you can go up.
SPOILER VIDEO
Here is a video Walkthrough, no glitches were used in solution, however prism cube glitch demonstrated for fun after second room completed. Click button below to show video.
It's not a perfect walkthrough, I make a couple mistakes and have to repeat an action near the end. Not exactly a speedrun.

Fun level, though I ended up using the floating cube glitch for room 2. Thought the ones after that were pretty easy though.

ops didn't notice that lol
Hey,
I enjoyed this map quite a bit, aside from certain frustrations (I really didn't want to use the cube hover glitch). There were a couple of glitches that I found though.
Firstly, when trying to get the first extra cube, I had two of the three laser receivers activated, and then created a portal which activated the third but deactivated the other two. Nonetheless, the box dropped out of the tube...
Secondly, I got frustrated on the room labeled "3" on the floor, but I didn't want to hover cube glitch, so I naturally looked for other ways of glitching it that seemed like "cheating less." I had all but the one of the laser receivers activated, the one next to the door, and an extra redirection cube in my hands. So I walked right next to the door and rapidly switched between activating the last receiver which deactivated a different one, and deactivating the last receiver which then reactivated the other (using the cube in my hand). The door sort of spazzed open and closed, and I just slipped through.
There is one more solution in 1 room 3rd puzzle: To turn on receiver you should create one portal on ceiling close to wall above beam receiver and another on the wall before beam.
I was determined to complete this map without spoilers or glitches and I almost did it. The one thing that really stumped me and made me watch the spoiler video was reaching the boxes around the light bridge. I even thought there must be a way to get a cube up to that button, but the way it must be done feels very unnatural/unintended. I suggest increasing the height difference between the two light bridges there so that the cube can be pushed between them. I'm pretty sure you can widen that space enough for a cube, but not so much that the player can crouch through. So it would essentially be arriving at the same solution in a more natural way.
The laser puzzles were difficult enough to make me stop and think on each one, but as said, I did figure them all out except for the one little part mentioned. I was aware of the floating cube glitch, but never used it.

That is essentially the same glitch encountered twice and is a flaw in the engine. When the lasers are used to activate an instant effect(a box dropping) that glitch can easily be exploited, but when the lasers activate a sustained effect(keeping a door open) the player has to be pressing against the door to get through it in that brief moment that it's opened by the glitch. Speed runners are using that glitch in at least one level of Portal 2 as well.

Why didn't the youtube code work for me?

I'm playing custom maps and record my first time of playing them. So the run is not perfect and may not use only intended ways, but maybe it can let you see how other people may understand the map or you could just enjoy someone playing this map for entertainment.
Anyways, here is the recording:

I think mine is the weirdest solution here in this room =D
You can see the yellow portal (on the ground) slightly left of my cursor. And there is a blue portal inside the room. Poise of the cubes is masterpiece!
(no glitch used)
Here are some screenshots of my solutions for the 3rd puzzle in the first chamber, and the 1st puzzle in the second chamber. The first 2 shots show how i glitched the puzzle using hovering reflective cubes.

Really loved the map .... one of the nicest i played so far. Even if it became difficult i never thought about giving up.
Only issue was not knowing about the button at the very last puzzle so i noclipped up to actually get the right idea to reactivate the bridge.
Great level. Simple design, many alternative solutions. In the second chamber I solved it transmitting ALL three laser beams through portlas, that was crazy.
However, I managed to burn myself to death in second (dark) chamber and level restarted from the very beginning. Thus I will not finish it.
Still, please add some respawn points after every step is solved.
Interesting ideas, but usually a pain in the ass to execute. I hate stacking cubes because the cubes never line up right and all you have to do is brush them to knock them all wonky.
The toss the cube around the bridge trick worked on the first try, but never again. I had better luck putting one cube on the little wall up high, then knocking it into the funnel with another cube.
The behavior of cubes in a funnel is even worse than stacking them on the ground, and stacking cubes in a funnel is worse squared.
The lighting was yucky throughout. I recommend bright but not blinding unless you're going for a very specific mood.
A few good ideas ruined by a lot of tedious fumbling around. Just 3/5 from me.
unfortunately ran out of interest after spending 10 or so mins on the last chamber. good fun up til that point though.
I don't know if this is how room 3 is supposed to be solved but this is how I solved it.
Floating cube bug ftw
Also I think it might help better optimize the map if you were to turn off things when they're not needed anymore. Specifically the funnel and lasers from completed portions of the test.
