This coop map is rather a race track than a puzzle. Use your portal gun cleverly to trick your opponent and be the first to reach the finish line! You will probably need a few laps until you know all tricks - so give it a second try and it will be smoother and more fun. Installation instructions: 1. Extract mp_coop_gelocity to your Portal 2 maps folder (...\SteamApps\common\portal 2\portal2\maps). 2. In Coop Hub open developer console and type "changelevel mp_coop_gelocity". 3. Race! Note: It takes a moment to paint the race track with propulsion gel. So if you experience performance issues, just wait a minute before starting. Special thanks to Nerzl for playtesting. Updates: v1.02 - fixed animated panels - changed the portal cleanser's visuals - added button for activating remote view - added direction signs v1.01 - fixed the buttons in the first room (sound bug) - added hints to the buttons - fixed catapults (animation error and launch target error) - fixed paint sprayers (now get properly removed after finishing) - some visual changes/fixes - added some clip walls - now returns to mp_coop_lobby_3 afterwards Screenshots: [img:omvyq2s6]http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/2564/gelocity3.th.jpg[/img:omvyq2s6][/url:omvyq2s6] [img:omvyq2s6]http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/4922/gelocity2.th.jpg[/img:omvyq2s6][/url:omvyq2s6] [img:omvyq2s6]http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/3236/gelocity4.th.jpg[/img:omvyq2s6][/url:omvyq2s6] [img:omvyq2s6]http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/9558/gelocity1.th.jpg[/img:omvyq2s6][/url:omvyq2s6]

A medium length and difficulty map using much of Portal 2's new features. Place the BSP in C:\Program Files\steam\steamapps\common\portal2\portal 2\maps. (x64 users will need to use the x86 folder) This is the map the one-room Iterator beta was from. If you played the beta you will recognize the first room (which has various bug fixes) and the rest of the map is new.

It's been a looong time... ...but finally here is my second portal 2 map. Gelocity Stage 2 is a race track (surprise) but a little more complicated and more dynamic than the first one. So if you enjoyed Gelocity[/url:17okf7db], you might like this as well. Installation instructions: 1. Extract mp_coop_gelocity_stage_2 to your Portal 2 maps folder (...\SteamApps\common\portal 2\portal2\maps). 2. In Coop Hub open developer console and type "changelevel mp_coop_gelocity_stage_2". 3. Race! Note: It takes a moment to paint the race track with propulsion gel. So if you experience performance issues, just wait a minute before starting. Special thanks to Nerzl for playtesting. Updates: v1.03 - some optimizations to reduce entdata v1.02 - fixed animated panels - changed some scripted scenes v1.01 - fixed some ambient sounds - level transition to the lobby should work properly now Screenshots: [img:17okf7db]http://img809.imageshack.us/img809/9391/2012020400002u.th.jpg[/img:17okf7db][/url:17okf7db] [img:17okf7db]http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/51/2012020200002h.th.jpg[/img:17okf7db][/url:17okf7db] [img:17okf7db]http://img542.imageshack.us/img542/3319/2012020400001.th.jpg[/img:17okf7db][/url:17okf7db] [img:17okf7db]http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/6824/2012020200005.th.jpg[/img:17okf7db][/url:17okf7db] A short trailer [b:17okf7db]made by Nerzl[/color:17okf7db][/b:17okf7db]: [spoiler!] [youtube:17okf7db]Ehh9uLRZjbQ[/youtube:17okf7db]

TESTED to be 100% compatible with Portal 2 Map Installer. To install this and most other maps easily and automatically download it here: Automated Map Installer This map is a playground for co-op. It includes: - All paint types - Laser - Tractor Beam - Light Bridge - Cube dispensers - World portal weird mirror - Moving portal surfaces - Large room for flinging As well as some things I made myself including a flaming lemon and paint spraying cubes. WINDOWS USERS: To install it just extract the zip file in your SteamApps\Common\Portal 2\portal2\ folder. It should ask you if you want to replace the existing folders, just say yes, it wont actually delete anything. MAC USERS: (thanks chrislb for pointing this out!) 1) Extract the zip folder to anywhere on your computer. Desktop is easy, then you can just delete it afterwards. 2) Copy the files from /maps/ into /steamapps/common/portal 2/portal2/maps/ 3) Copy the files from /models/ into /steamapps/common/portal 2/portal2/models/ 4) Copy the files from /materials/ into /steamapps/common/portal 2/portal2/materials/ THANKYOU! This coop map features different themes, tricky puzzles and two levels with several testchambers. They contain shredders, crushers, and many of the portal 2 entities we know from the coop campaign. We tested the map a lot so there shouldn't be any bugs, cheating possibilities etc. Any critics are very welcome please leave a message in the forum[/url:1xpjmq8u] if you'd like to but keep in mind that this is our first map (we did not have any hammer experience before). Have fun and look at the indicators and signs which help you to solve the puzzles! spliffa & weedbeat Installation instructions: 1. Use 7-zip to extract the package. 2. Copy mp_coop_strubadur.vpk to your Portal 2 addons folder (\SteamApps\common\portal 2\portal2\addons). If it doesn't exists, create it. 3. In Coop Hub open developer console and type "changelevel mp_coop_strubadur_1". 4. Second level will be loaded automatically. You are a test subject in the Aperture Science lab who winds up in another "puzzling" situation. You are also in a race against an ever wicked "test dungeon master" trying to make life hard and success a relative term. What's up with GLaDOS anyway ? Has she gone mad ? She had the cooperative testing initiative yet choses to let you break your heart and head over an inanimate companion testing element time and again. This is what you'll be getting: Solve 7 new maps full of puzzle elements Fully voiced GLaDOS by MissyChrissy (anglsummer4 on youtube) Companion elements (cube & sphere) Custom in-game media (video's and icons by TigerboyPT) Build 2.0: THE CORE RELOADED now live on the workshop! Due to the newer PTI integration, the "mod" version up to 1.1c will no longer work correctly, Therefor I recommend to not download the mod on this forum any longer but go to the following link: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/file ... =117081702 There, you can subscribe to all maps and they'll be automaticly downloaded to your game. This update to the campaign fixes numerous issues, updates visual layout and inclujdes workshop compatibility where you can vote on the individual maps. Hotfixed build 1.1c: May 2012 Because Valve updated Portal 2 with a new dlc, they changed some internal resource file requirements which broke the main menu of my mod. I fixed this for build 1.1c. No other fixes were made. Patch 1.1b: minor fix: Fixed GLaDOS announcement triggering multiple times in bonus map. Patch 1.1 updates and fixes: General: custom signs are now self illuminated All maps now have correct reflections (cubemaps) improvements in some map detail design trough-out the levels updated essential mod file to support directx 8 fixed exit doors not closing behind the player in some maps (except for the nightmare elevator) Installer package now fetches for sourcemod dir in the windows registry Chapters now also show their titles in-game Map 1: (chapter 1: Angular Reality) replaced bts arms in sky-box with decoration lights to optimize performance on low memory bandwidth video cards More "ratman den" decoration to make it look less dull Map 2: (Chapter 2: A New Companion) moved back the catwalk which is sometimes blocking start catapult movement direction fixed further texture misalignments BTS decoration arm lights were pointing the wrong way Map 3: (Chapter 3: The Shrine) prevented placement of portals outside the shrine until THE CORE is removed from the altar redesigned the top of the shrine room fixed misaligned ceiling texture near gel and excursion funnel area jump panels of the second room now activate when the player enters fixed some Z-fighting props in the jump room BTS area fixed unfinished look of blobulator spawn area above the gel dropper made the pneumatic diversity exit vent more responsive to THE CORE puzzle indicators for tractor beam will now match it's direction color New puzzle in the shrine Map 4: (Chapter 4: Deadly Intermezzo) extruded glass near "bowling turret" to reduce the chance of blockages when it's tippled over reworked some brushwork in maze area removed ability to place portals in maze area to avoid players skipping the maze entirely Map 5: (Chapter 5: Euthanazation Vault) decorated the jump hall with extra brushwork and models fixed env_projectedtexture core goodbye line should be a triggered once only texturized laser power control room interior in case that players portal in there prevented players from going trough the tractor beam generator prop sanitized the puzzle around the tractor beam alcove with an escape platform and emancipation grill Map 6:: (Chapter 6: CatapultClysm) added bonus map- Map 7: (Chapter 7: Round Tangent) added extra models and brushwork to prevent players spotting the ceiling of the right side entry bts area when crouched. prevented "cutting the race" glitch by replacing core receptacle tube piece with an iris overhauled design of the small test room for a less dull look and removed shallow water areas fixed small room exploit where players could jump & hop the core inside the glass window without having to fling it fixed ability to place a portal on the second fling platform for the CORE race puzzle changed main test room acid texture to the correct deadly slime look corrected misaligned light spots on the exit hatch area removed map prototype GLaDOS power off event in exit area placed exit hatch override in case the player manages to "forget" THE CORE and left it being on the race exit socket gave breakable glass a visually broken style so it seems more obvious that you can break it. fixed succeeded wallprojector puzzle indicators showing unsolved state for the sphere when it is put into the socket for a second time- INSTALLATION NOTES: Unpack this archives WITH DIRECTORIES INTACT in the following folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods" So to be clear, the thecore directory goes inside this directory. Your sourcemods directory should now look like this "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\thecore\" with subdirs like bin, materials, models etc... If you have a previous installation, just overwrite everything with the new files. Restart steam for the mod to become visible in your games list. Uninstall notes: To elimitate every trace of my campaign from your portal2 dir, delete: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\thecore\" and restart steam.

Version 1.8: For some reason the RAR-file was suddenly corrupt and only contained part3. While at it I have also fixed an issue with an unintentionally portable texture. Thanks Tyri!!! Version 1.7: - All parts overhauled. Many thanks to Domathan,zivi7, sicklebrick, Shakky, josepezdj and KengKong for pointing out the issues and exploits. There are still some ninja solutions left which I either found creative enough to leave as is, or weren’t able to fix without rearranging the whole map. Finally found the time to fix the major issues in 274, 275 and 276. Haven't fixed the minor exploits that allow ninja solutions in 272 and 273, yet. Fifth version: sp_the_ledge_v5.rar Still trying to fix the same issue in 274 Fourth version: sp_the_ledge_v4.rar Hopefully the last fix for test chamber 274. Again, thanks El Farmarino! Third version: sp_the_ledge_v3.rar Again fixed an exploit which still allowed to skip an puzzle element. Thanks a lot El Farmarino! Okay here’s the second version: sp_the_ledge_v2.rar - Tried to fix as many exploits as I could. Many thanks to zivi7, sicklebrick, Shakky and KengKong for the vids which were very helpful. You guys are amazing!!! Did not fix ‘exploits’ which I considered to be creative alternative solutions. - Apropos alternative solutions, I decided to go with TaiMai’s alternative for solving 276. I think it’s far better than my initial intended way. Thank you Micah! First of all I have to apologise: These maps are very demanding on the computer hardware. They run smoothly at 1920X1080 with 60fps showing only some minor frame drops at certain areas on an Intel Core i7 2600/2500 K 3.4 GHz computer with 8 GB DDR3 RAM | Gainward GeForce GTX 570 Phantom and ASUS EAH6850. Does not run even with medium settings on an: AMD FX 4100 / 3.6 GHz | 8 GB RAM | ASUS HD 6770. Although the custom materials are embedded using Pakrat, I have also added the materials folder in the RAR-file; just in case somebody experiences problems (especially when recording dem-files) extract/copy the folder to your materials path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\portal 2\portal2\materials Feel free to use any of the custom materials/textures/signage as you like. Should appreciate it very much if you could play the maps in successive order: - Part I: “This Way Up!” - Part II: “The Ledge” - Part III: “Ups & Downs” - Part III: “What Comes First?” Each following map will be automatically loaded at level end. Hope you’ll enjoy playing. Many thanks to josepezdj and MaiTai for all the help and support!

Drag & drop custom maps to add them to the Portal 2 Extras menu (for easy loading without console)! It is very easy to use: It will automatically get your portal2.exe path & map name in the folder where the patcher is. Just set the title and subtitle. You can also set a picture for your map (not necessary). The program can save default settings to an ini file to make patching even easier. It also supports drag & dropping .bsp, .vtf, .txt and .exp files. .txt and .exp have to be in the example format. You can easily create such files with the program and release them with your maps. It can also copy map files to the portal2\maps folder. Try drag & dropping your map file onto the program to easily patch extras.txt and copy the map file to Portal 2! The program will also notice if the map already exists in the extras.txt and will ask the user if he wants to update the information. You can now also patch version 7.5 .vtf files to version 7.4! The program is made using Visual C# 2010 Express so it'll need the .NET Runtime to be installed. Thanks for reading & testing the program! Please report if you encounter any problems with it!
