Description
Hey all, this is my first map, and I decided to fix it up until it reached a completable state,so here it is, Turret Dipping! This test chamber is relatively simple and easy to figure out, but that's because it introduces and teaches an innovative testing element- turret dipping! You might ask what that is, so I'll give you the basics: See a white turret? Pick it up. See a black turret? Push it with the white turret. Bring the white turret along with you! You may need to sacrifice a white turret to beat this test! This takes place in present day aperture science, however, it has a unique atmosphere, because Aperture Science is on Emergency Power mode. I liked how the lighting looked, so hopefully adding that unique twist to the atmosphere won't disqualify me. I just remembered to include the custom instances used, so I hope that editing it in to the rar doesn't disqualify me.

Strange map: the only winning move is not to play. Seriously, pushing down turrets that way would have been fun once... but 12 times?! On 12 identical platforms. ![]()
That's a bit harsh. The original gimmick was going to involve using portaling without platforms, but as that was hard (and against the rules), I ditched that concept. Also, it's 11 identical platforms with 11 turrets. I'd know, since I made the map. I don't count the white turret, because it respawns infinitely. The main reason I did that is to get people used to the gimmick because I was originally planning on expanding upon it with a harder chamber after it, but due to time constraints, I simplified things and changed the idea of the last chamber to that of a fun break to reward you for what might have been tedious and repetitive.
Maybe I should have toned it down to 6 platforms, but oh well.
I'm playing custom maps and record my first time of playing them. So the run is not perfect and may not use only intended ways, but maybe it can let you see how other people may understand the map or you could just enjoy someone playing this map for entertainment.
Anyways, here is the recording:

Is this Portal 2 or Super Meatboy? This took me back to the days of Portal 1 community maps when the only way most people could make a map hard was with turrets. But that was Portal 1, where the biggest elements are cubes, buttons and turrets. This is Portal 2. There's many more elements you can play with here, gels, funnels, hardlight surfaces and panels just to name a few. Is this really the only idea you could come up with? 1/5 I would give it a 0/5 but it was nice to feel like I was back in the days of Portal 1 again so I owe you that much.
