Description

This is a not-so-big map I made, it started out as a test to see what I could do in Portal 2 Authoring Tools (It's also my first map I ever made in Valve Hammer). It took me quite some time but I think it came out pretty well, even though I've been messy with my brushes :p. I know graphical glitches occur when more than 4 (world)portals are on-screen, but I can't really fix that. There's no indicator lights, those are a pain to place, I'm going to wait until Valve releases the Portal 2 map editor DLC to add those. I might even remake the map! Thanks for playing the map! P.s. My Twitter is Trickboss if you'd like to contact me '-'!

I like this map - but didn't i play this before? Sure seems familiar. Anyway great job -lack of indicator lights didn't matter. Fairly easy to figure out. Keep up the good work!

It was a WIP at beginning of October.

Liked this a lot - short and sweet with a nice central idea. Seems like it could be fleshed out a bit - would be cool to have a puzzle that required repeated switching back and forth between the two worlds/eras. Looks really nice, especially for a first map.

Do you actually need all those world portals? I haven't messed around with them yet, but it seems like if you didn't cut that corner on the way to the AFP that sends to the other chamber, you could just have them in two places. [EDIT - On second thought, this was probably a fix to some other problem, because I don't really see another reason for doing it in the first place? Sorry if this is painfully obvious.] Is the glitch with the departure elevator screens part of what you're talking about? Where the two middle ones behind the elevator show up on top of the elevator itself?

Also, are the indicator lights in the destroyed chamber intentionally off? Seems likely, but just pointing it out in case it's unintentional. I don't know why all the other functions of the button would work, but the lights wouldn't change? All in all, cool little puzzle and mighty pretty.

The first world portal is just there to confuse you really. The graphical glitches caused by the world portals have been fixed and I know what you're talking about (in the elevator) but I haven't found a solution to that unfortunately.

The indicator lights weren't supposed to be off, but they didn't necessarily have to be on either, I think I'm gonna leave them that way :p.

Thanks for the positive replies everyone!

I'm playing custom maps and record my first time of playing them. So the run is not perfect and may not use only intended ways, but maybe it can let you see how other people may understand the map or you could just enjoy someone playing this map for entertainment.
Anyways, here is the recording:

The second room is there for aesthetic reasons and to confuse people. The fact this room exists makes them think they have to do something in it which makes the map just a bit more long.

Nice first effort. The puzzle was simple, but still a bit of fun to work out. The "time warp" motif was a nice touch, especially since you put some effort into the details. I didn't see any obvious visual glitches, due to world portals or anything else. I would brighten up the map a bit, it was a little on the dark side.

I'm only giving this a 3 because it's so short and simple. I can easily believe that I will be giving you higher ratings on future maps, as you progress on the learning curve.

I really like the double chambers effect, i'm not usually a fan of red herrings, but the visual impact of this one makes it forgiveable

A few more difficult puzzles and this could be a really nice adventure map.
