Is there a way to get to the room with the companion cube and photo on the wall as there was no mention of a hidden room. Or is it just for noclippers checking out the map.

Very glitchy\buggy and hence frustrating. First of all there is a bug with the hardlight and cube where the button drops through the bridge if you quick load. Also, the button that deactivates the frizzler can remain 'pressed' when there's no cube on it.

The second part just got on my nerves. Due to the known paint on bridge disappearing glitch it doesn't help that you save if you got the paint of the right section of the bridge to make the faith-plate bounces. So you try and try to time the paint and and putting the hardlight bridge but when you miss placing the portal to prevent you from being impaled, you have to do the painting and placing the bridge in the right section all over again, which is nigh impossible. The paint drop keeps missing the brdige, or you mis-time it, or the drop gets stuck in the bridge w\o painting it and etc.

So the whole puzzle becomes about getting frustrated not being able to place and paint the bridge the way you need to, and then nailing the midair portal placement to stay alive. If you miss, you need to spend minutes again just getting the bridge painted the right way.

I pulled it off finally but as it is i can't really recommend the map for anything other than seeing how to not do a paint bridge puzzle.

I think its very buggy/glitchy because you abuse the F6 and F7 buttons. This is a hard map and of course is frustrating if you dont know how to manipulate bridges and paint and improvising along the way.
Too bad you didn`t like the map...

Unless i missed something, it's very hard to set the bridge and get it painted with one portal placement.

Abusing saves has nothing to do with buttons remaining pressed with no cube, which contradicts the essence of the puzzle.

Well, it's alot more painless than the way that i did it.

I still think you need to check if you can do something to fix the upside down cube button bug because its allows to circumvent part of the puzzle.

As u can see I fizzled the cube after you place the portal. If the button stays pressed, its nothig I can do about it. Its the engine.

'SP_UPA~1.VPK' is not a valid Source engine add-on. Installation failed.

Trying to run it from the console doesn't work either.

Put the sp_upanddownV3.vpk in portal2/addons folder, don`t click it. When do you enter the game type map sp_upanddownV3 in console.

Unimaginative and punishing don't go well hand in hand, in the logic of the game not being worth the candle. At least from my perspective, punishment you can take and mapping quality are directly proportional.

And short maps in shaky Clean style are dime a dozen, so in the very least you want to entice people to stay and come back for your next projects. Yes, it's not truly abysmal but there's still nothing attention grabbing in it and the sudden deaths only do enhance the tastelessness.

Gee, thanks for autosaving in front of the deadly turrets. Nothing says fun more than a death loop. Some parts of the solution for this map constitute abuse of the mechanics, e.g. lifting a cube by reportaling a bridge. The final fling was aggravating, I went over the lightbridge and into the spikes several times. Nothing about the puzzle was hard to figure out. It was only hard to execute. I got no sense of satisfaction from completing it. 3/5.
