hm, i don't think GLaDOS is being sarcastic though. She first gets mad at you when you get to the BTS area, which is where she get's sarcastic. She isn't sarcastic in the testchambers - this would make the environments seem uncontrolled with a sarcastic computer all the time. Like, the player get's killed:

GLaDOS wrote:
Well done sarcasm sphere self-test complete YOU FAILED

.
The point is, if she's only sarcastic in the bts areas, she's only being sarcastic in 3 out of 18 maps, which means she's not as sarcastic as the clone theory says.

In your GLaDOS quote, it actually should turn out that the "sarcasm sphere self-test" runs only in her room.

Is it morally okay to commit assisted suicide?

I'm guessing not, so I'd think (speculate) that GLaDOS only wanted Chell to succeed at escaping. Since keeping human test subjects probably isn't all that morally sound, either. The fire obviously wasn't meant to kill her, since it had portalable walls which easily let you escape. I think GLaDOS was sincere when she said the line about just getting along.

Just saying.

The escape itself was actually unexpected for GLaDOS, so she just thought "I'd rather kill myself" and eventually decided to commit suicide (by Chell of course).

She couldn't decide that until AFTER the morality core falls out. I suspect that her surprise was going to be letting Chell go.

Then why (according to pestchamber) still not sarcastic GLaDOS should let Chell go at all? Remember that the very last moment, still not sarcastic, GLaDOS says "Goodbye".

Let me go play the last test chamber again, and I'll come up with something! Eventually.

I can't right now.

Yeah, obviously, GLaDOS didn't find burning the test subjects wrong, as she was programmed to think it's just a part of the test - remember she is still just a computer. When the subject escapes, GLaDOS panics, and starts to lie to make Chell go back. When chell finds GLaDOS she is already sarcastic in one of the first lines - "Maybe you could settle for that and we'll just call it a day". In the end she realizes she can't make Chell stop, and starts to panic after realizing she could kill GLaDOS before the neurotoxin were ready. So she starts trying to be friendly.

EDIT:
And by the way - Who the hell was that idiot who decided to make neurotoxin emitters in the facility? I mean they should have predicted all this!

The neurotoxin emitters were originally to kill GLaDOS, not Chell.

The fun fact:as long as you don't go to the pipe that leads to Chamber 09, you can still go back to the beginning of the Chamber 19 - I think GLaDOS simply tried Chell to encourage to go back until this point. When Chell reached Chamber 09, there's another fun fact that altough she leaved Chamber 09 with an elevator and went to Chamber 10, there's no elevator here. GLaDOS, not knowing that, led Chell to a place where an elevator was, only to realize there's no elevator. And that's where the sarcasm begins...

It's also fun, all elevators are there when you reach the chamber lock, but in chamber 09, you see the elevator come down. I saw i video once with someone who managed to bug up the elevator (without cheats) so he could jump down there - it was empty though

When you go there again, it's not empty.

They were? How does neurotoxin affect a supercomputer?

My theory is that when GLaDOS was designed, the neurotoxin was acid too, and acid would simply cut GLaDOS down. But the neurotoxin component made GLaDOS immune and so she didn't get hurt when she flooded the Enrichment Center.

Say Chell has experienced life after death and her lovely mother must know what the Android Hell was going on.
