I suck at flings, but I still think that flying through the air like that would be fun. And GLaDOS, trapped in her room, can't experience freedom like that.

And that's why she wanted to be free. Bingo.

It's not fun. I hate that Portal is based on flinging, and trying to decode the hidden message in Chamber 10 resulted in "... significant portal momentum", which means it's so significant every other Portal fun is left behind. Try counting all the flings: classic single fling, classic double fling, step fling, fling, fling, fling, ...

I love flinging! It's fun when you replace both portals twice or more to reach entirely higher places.

Oh come on, forget that theory already.

It seems every single Portal story theory loops back to that theory, and I can't do a thing about it.

I think that GLaDOS says WEEEEEEEEEEE at the end of chamber 12 because she thinks that you think it's fun. Besides she's malfunctioning, who knows why she does half the things she does.

[1] I've already established it's not fun.

[2] We, speculators, know.

So that may be. However, do you really believe GLaDOS knows what you're thinking?

If she knows what happens after you die - which is purely thought - yes.

I can find a few holes in this. First of all, please refresh my memory as to how she knows what happens after you die; I think there was a line in the game relating to this but I can't remember it. Second, what do you mean by "which is purely thought"?

Keep your theology to yourself. Give me science only.

I'll give you "science only"! writes "Science Only" on a sheet of paper and slams it to your head

what do I really mean It's a speculation. We can take the theology, even though it's Aperture Science.

I also doubt they got portal technology from praying to some deity.

Let's explain it clearly. In 3000s, Aperture Science is purely science, because there's no thought involved, and if there's no thought, there's no theology. In 1970s-2000s, when portal technology was built, there was no thought/theology either. GLaDOS [and later Cave Johnson's reincarnate A.I.], on the other hand, is built to do nothing but think, which automatically bumps into theology.

I thought you said you would explain it clearly. Isn't thought an integral part of science? And how do you know that Aperture Science even exists in the year 3000?

How did you miss my signature? It clearly says "Aperture Science Business Magnet, 3002".

And the "purely science" thing is because you make an invention, it works, nothing to think (unless you're planning another invention). No thought = no room for theology.

I'm going to take a shot in the dark here, but I think that at least a LITTLE thought is required to invent something.

To plan an invention - yes, but you plan an invention with no room for theology, science only.

Why'd I post twice. I guess I'll change the topic.

Go in portal feet first, come out head first? That's how portal seems sometimes.
