Sounds interesting, but I think I'll pass for the time being.

I know, it's a bit of a niche market. I think games like SWGB kinda appeal to control freaks.
Probably why I like to play it.

I played SWBFII at a friend's place. I always picked space fights because I love flying in a spaceship shooting at other spaceships and crashing into star destroyer hulls which weren't there a second ago...

Shame EVE Online isn't as arcade as SWBFII was...

I like the movies I just don't get into the shooting games much. I prefer the puzzle games, that's why I like Portal so much. With new maps coming out (not so much anymore) it's virtually unlimited.

Have you tried Research and Development? A short, puzzle mod for HL2:Ep2. I really enjoyed it.

Looks like fun!

"The player has NO weapons and there is no shooting at all. However that doesn't mean you can't kill things, but 95% of the mod is about solving the puzzles that are presented to you in a very natural way."

For those of you who took a chair to jump into the duct on Chamber 19

Funny you should mention it...I just heard about that the other day--it was on one of the Steam News Updates. I checked it out, and it really does look awesome. Unfortunately, Portal's the only Source game I own...so looks like I'm out in the cold for a little while at least.

I bought the standalone Portal, and I ended up buying the orange box a couple of weeks ago. It's worth it!

I got OB for the Xbox360. Then I bought it again for the PC. Better buy for the PC, well cause its from Valve. Something is really messed up with you if you get a Valve game for a console. It will not last as long.

I'll give it a try this weekend, thanks for the tip.

It really has that 'hard to wrap your head around but easy to execute'-attitude of Portal. Y'know, the puzzle seems impossible until you suddenly realize what the solution is, and it becomes easy. I haven't felt about solving puzzles like the way I did in R&D since Portal, and that's the biggest compliment I can give it.

I've just started playing R&D (Never heard of it until this thread) and I have to say, fun so far, although I haven't gone far yet (just got outside)

That's the idea. The mod is quite short, really, so enjoy it for as long as it lasts.

I may have to try this next week. I've been... distracted lately.
