Portal radio: The original record

I've been wondering, why should a radio play a song over and over if it's tuned in on some station? Either the radio or the station must have suffered from a loss of memory.
I made up the "original record" of the song (no, of course it's not the original for obvious reasons), taken from the Aperture Archives (which also don't exist).

Holy shit. I burned this song into my Still Alive Remix disc before you made this post.
