Hello guys!
I am tired of searching the forums new maps, hand-pump, extract and write the name of the map into the console.
so I wrote myself a program that does it all for me.
I wrote it for myself, but if you want I can share.
whether against the administration if I do this (maps downloaded from thinkingwithportals.com)?

program hides in your system tray and hourly checks on new maps
thinkingwithportals.com, if it finds, then download, unpack, copy where necessary, will only have to select the card from the list and click RUN.
at the moment there are a few bugs in the program.
but soon I will correct it.
any living creature in need of this program?

Welcome to the forums. Please upload this to the Download Database--it will automatically create a release thread for you. The program looks neat, by the way. I assume it downloads maps from TWP and installs them?

Wow, this actually looks pretty cool. You should get a friend or someone you know who speaks English to write up a description of this in less-broken English, ("hand-pump"?), and then upload this to the Portal 2 Other Files section for people to download.
PM me with the details of how exactly you're getting this data, but I'm assuming that you are just having the program parse the website, which is honestly just fine. An extra pageload per hour from this is not even a blip on the bandwidth graph of the server.

algorithm is simple:
I scan the http://mirror.pointysoftware.net/thinki ... s/portal2/ (little traffic)
if there is a new file, I find it forums.thinking.withportals.com/downloads (the part where portal2)
where is the file name, author and a link to the forum
and stored in the local DB

As soon as I gather a stable version, I'll upload it

Okay. We're really interested in having this work, but we have some concerns about how this interacts with our servers. I'm locking this thread and sending you a PM. Let's chat about this.
