Hello, I am BenVlodgi of AiCreation. I'm here to let you know about our latest Portal 2 Mod, "Back-Stock".
We are opening our mod up for user custom map submissions, coop and singleplayer, if you've already submitted them to a site like this one, that's fine, as long as you are the author of the map.
Check out the Mod on ModDB
Read the whole page on how to submit your custom map on ModDB News
or on our site... AiCreation

To Submit email your maps + .bsp file to [email protected] BUT..please read the whole How To on either ModDBor our site... thanks

We are also accepting people who want to join the team (Note: we don't need mappers, but we don't mind having more =D)

If you have any questions, you can reply to this post, or email us at [email protected]
We cant wait to see what you guys come up with!

PS: If you do plan on submitting a map, or have submitted a map, say something on this thread to keep it alive

It looks cool, but if this a portal 2 mod, why does it have a portal tag thingy on it?

Portal tag?.... if you mean the icon, that was a mistake

Okay, thanks! Yeah, I meant the icon, couldn't find the word for it for some reason so I just called it a tag thingy.

If you have a map you've already made, you can still submit it to be included in this mod

So... what is this? Some kind of map pack? Why should anyone join your project instead of just releasing their own content here, or through a mapping contest?

Kinda sketchy.

In no way is this meant to be "sketchy", each map author will be given full credit for what they've done, and given the chance to have their map perfected distributed and played more. The entire concept of this mod "Back-Stock", is for the user to have to solve some of the many many chambers GLaDOS made, and then stockpiled away. To accomplish this we need lots of maps, and we can only crank out so many puzzles. We thought this would be a great way to get more maps for our mod, and for people to have their map played more.

Answer1: People can also release their individual map on map sharing sites as-well if they want.
Answer2: People who submit maps, are not "joining the project" they are just helping. The mappers here at AiCreation are making the storyline, and incorperating the maps we already have into the game, and with additional maps, we will fit them into the mod (still giving the author credit: even if we change the map some)

I understand what you're driving at here, but just be warned that the way you've put it still makes it sound a bit like you're trying to shift yourself into the spotlight for other mappers' work. I know that isn't your intent, but still.

I understand what your saying, and from that point of view it does look a little sketchy. But like I said, we just want to make a massively cool (long) mod/pack, and any help is appreciated.

Well, maybe my "Revenge of the Angry Turrets" map will make it in you pack. What is the dead-line to submit a map?

Ok, because it might be a week or two, before I can upload the map to your site/email/etc.

No it won't be. We can't make mods for Portal 2. It's unlikely that we ever will be able to.

We are holding out for the full release of "Portal 2 Mod Tools", so that we can make a mod, like you could for "Portal", if not then we just stick with a map-pack.

Again, in all likelihood that simply is not going to happen.

@MasterLagger: That's fine, when ever you finish it, and if you fix things after you've sent it in, that's fine just send the revised version, and specify that its the same map... even though we will probably notice there is a duplicate

@msleeper: We here are just hoping that when "Portal 2 Authoring Tools" comes out of beta, that they will add the "Create Mod" function. they wouldn't want to release a faulty mod system. So that's the general opinion over here... and if we never get the chance to make this into a mod, that's fine. We will just leave it as a map-pack

Actually, my map is already done, I'm just on vacation. Don't worry about glitches, I tested it several times to fine any. But there is more than one way to solve the puzzles even though the map is a little on the short side.
