The Download Database allows you to have a single file for your map, and you can use it to keep all previous versions available if you so choose. Right now there is not a built-in mechanism to move a WIP map to a release board - I am looking into ways of doing this. But there are a ton of people who upload new versions of their map, instead of editing their existing file.
I sent 40 "You uploaded your map twice" messages today

If the mapper had some way of managing all the maps they have released within their user control panel maybe you'll find that they would be encouraged to edit instead of posting 'new versions'.
I noticed that at the moment it is very hard to view maps of a certain user has released unless you view their posts (especially if you have no idea what the map is called). And if they are a constantly posting replies on TWP it is even harder to find the certain thread. Even using the advanced search, it comes up with all their posts in the community releases.
I have trouble finding my map threads for goodness sake! Especially as they are nearly called the same name :S
Is there any method to search for threads that a user has created? And then filter from Community Releases?
The only thing I can think of is looking through the first post only (as they had to post information about it) with the filter of the username AND looking through Community Releases.
So if someone were to click a user's name/alias, their "View Profile" would include the maps they made.
I'm not sure if this would stop people from submitting their map twice. But if someone had a better way of checking if their map was uploaded or not, then maybe that would decrease the amount of people that would try to re-upload their map.
What do you guys think?
