Heya there,

Now that I am seeing so many topics that are being created, that are in the form of guides, an idea popped into my head.

This idea would help with the marketing of the of the mapping community. The idea I have is that with these guides, to be able to create an ebook which is free to download. the ebook would contain the series of guides that have been created within the forum.

This is just an idea, and I'm throwing it out there.

Having one (free) source of information like that would be incredibly usefull and welcome but then it should be more in a way like the VDC... Or maybe even better, just add it to the VDC I know changes can be made and additions so there probably is a nice way of doing it. By creating a whole new section or something (if possible).

Any knowledge that isn't specific to TWP should definitely go on the VDC.

To be honest, one thing I do wish existed--and this ties in to an extent with your idea--is a way to download the entire text contents (and possibly images) of the VDC. I know it's possible to obtain an archive of all of Wikipedia's articles in text format, and I assumed it was a built-in MediaWiki feature, but apparently it isn't because I searched around and found no clean way of doing the same for the VDC. It would be neat to have the entire mapping reference on hand when away from the Internet.
