I know that America's financial situation isn't the best at the moment...

..but this takes the biscuit.

That sounds absolutely outrageous. Of course they aren't going to pay him 500 billion dollars but I see his point. The legal system is absolutely ridiculous and this at least gives him some kind of voice.

If it's an actual air tight contract... then they have no choice.

But im geussing he mailed his new contract to some general customerservice email adress or something (thus, breaking his case)... because those always take ages to respond... Because if he mailed it to a legal department they would have definitly responded within 24-48 hours (unless they knew he didnt stand a chance and they just left it for what it was).

To bad tho... big companies need to be put in their place once in a while...

I have mixed feelings about this. I don't appreciate Microsoft very much, but it kind of seems as if they were set up by that guy.

If this kind of thing really worked, I think the world would be a very different place. One could theoretically turn everyone into part of a legally-binding slave army using a tactic like this.

I'm sure there's something somewhere that will render this guy's claims legally invalid. Like that part mentioned in the article about how Microsoft doesn't accept notices by email, and he sent his frivolous contract via email and refuses to do it in print...

The point is, he'll be shot down, no doubt about it. It's too stupid a plan to work.

I think $500b is a bit ludicrous. But I like the idea behind it, because big companies pull this crap on the little people ALL the time, and we just bend over and take it... If it wasn't for the fact that he's self-admittedly mentally handicapped, and the fact that he's had numerous frivolously lawsuits in the past, AND if he'd asked for a more... reasonable sum... I think he would/could have been able to win... However, with all that stacked against him, it'll get thrown out.

That's impossible, because the justice system is two-tiered: common folks like him get nothing, while a company doing exactly the same thing to you is sacred.

that's sort of exactly my point.
