I was thinking, since portal 2 is a kids game (e 10+), we should make this website more kid-friendly and have less vulgar language, etc.

So, what about rule 34 sites (don't google that, please) that make adult content out of games like Portal 2? Are we to tell them to tone it down? If we wish to chat with our friends about the game, must we keep expletives to a minimum (I don't swear, but many of my friends do, and profusely)? My points are slightly exaggerated and completely different from yours, but they still stand somewhat; the game is separate from it's communities,a nd they are not governed by the same rules. In attempting to govern everyone's actions and wu fess their vocabulary, you'll most likely just end up annoying people.

What the hell are you talking about man? Just because the age rating is 10+ doesn't mean its a kids game.

It's rated everyone 10+ because there is no violence, sex or nudity! and TWP.COM is a site for mappers... Not kids :S

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean by making this site "kid-friendly". The site itself really isn't all that hard to navigate. As far as vulgar/profane language goes, it does irritate me a bit when people start using tasteless language but people don't really do that here, thankfully. It is possible to implement censoring with phpBB (<Holiday Name Here>, for instance, is turned into "<Holiday name here>") but that's up to msleeper, the only staff member with permission to access those settings.

On that note, though, do try to keep the language acceptable. I understand that at times mild language is useful to make a point but there are other, just as forceful ways of saying things. I'm closing the thread now, but we do appreciate the suggestions; PM me if you'd like me to reopen it at any point.
