Portal and LEGO?
Lego cuusoo is a website where people can suggest ideas for new lego sets, and some awesome people suggested a portal 2 set. Once the set has 10,000 supporters LEGO will consider building it!

So visit the portal 2 lego cuusoo webpage and vote now and we might see portal lego in the future!
(you can also find more information there as well)

Well done to everyone that has made something for us! Here is where you can download the advertisements to put in game:

TWP Advertisements

Hands down PixelFace has completely impressed us. Well done

ThinkingWithPortals is looking (for someone) to create some sort of custom content to advertise us!

It has been brought to our attention that not enough people know about all the custom maps hosted here and having a custom animation / texture / model / sound for the: elevator screens / lightboards / interactive object / music motto is a great way for people to visit this site.

What do I get for doing this you may ask?

TWP will feature your creation on the site and you will gain a very nice advantage such as 1000's of potential people to see it.

Whoever submits an entree which we deem the winner by the 28th of this month will gain this honour (and perhaps something extra to give away for your efforts).

What your creation should have:

  • What it is, is entirely up to you. But do be reminded that this is meant to advertise us, not anything else.
  • It should be typically aperture-styled.
  • It should be something general which people can just place or use inside their map. (such as a lightboard texture, an elevator animation etc.)
  • The site name: thinkingwithportals.com should be absolutely noticeable when looking at your object
  • If you are making an animation: try to make a vertical and horizontal version of it at 600x400 and 480x640. This however is not entirely necessary if it is going to be too much work. If that is the case you can just make either of the two sized animations.
  • And lastly, your name or perhaps an avatar-logo included somewhere in it that credits yourself. You want people to know you made it afterall

Submit your entree through an attachment in a pm to us moderators or within this thread.

Good luck everyone!

PC Gamer features TWP all-stars, also some other guy

Today, I received the following text message.

Quote:
So Mevious and Motanum got featured in PCGamer mag in this article on the Perpetual Testing Initiative. I was bored at work and read it lol

My life is so thrilling. Looks like it's true; PC Gamer did a full page article on the PTI. Interestingly, three of TWP's all-stars (and some guy I've never heard of in my life) are named and featured!

yassermalaika, if you're reading this, register and make yourself known! Thanks to wstrika for risking his job for the tip.

Community Roundup - Steam workshop #1 May 8th-June 16th.

Hello everyone,

It's been over a month since the release of the second Portal 2 DLC: "The Perpetual Testing Initiative". A big part of this update was the easy map making tool (PTI editor) and Steam Workshop integration. This has produced an incredible amount of new maps. In fact there are over 125,000 maps on the Workshop right now! That's quite a few to play through.
Luckily, Community Contributor BEARD! has made a list of 30 maps submitted by people from this community that are totally worth a play. Frankly, these are some of the best puzzles around.

At the moment, the set contains about 20 maps from the PTI and about 10 made in good old Hammer. Some maps have been released on http://www.thinking.withportals.com before but it's still well worth a play! If you want to enjoy those awesome 30 maps but just check out the workshop page, subscribe to the collection and enjoy some of our finest puzzles:
The Best of TWP Maps a really good collection of maps!

Even better, BEARD! is planning to keep on adding maps later on. That means even more testing fun in the future! Have fun playing through them!
