Unplanned Downtime
Posted by User 1 • 2011-08-03 15:03
As some of you may have noticed, the site was down for a few hours. The server's hard drive went read-only due to some sort of filesystem error. I am still investigating the exact cause, but given that there were some physical drive errors performed during the file system check that was ran while I was getting the server back up, I may wind up replacing the drive later this week or this weekend.

No data was lost, and we have nightly backups of the entire site so there wouldn't have been much lost anyway. I'll post here if/when I will plan on replacing the server's drive.

Keep calm and continue testing. Thanks.

Community Spotlight - Angrybombs
Posted by User 1 • 2011-07-14 16:53
This week we are putting the Community Spotlight on a map that is already a big hit within the community, Angrybombs by MissStabby. The map promises you more explosions than Michael Bay's latest feature film, and features Rick the Adventure Sphere in a similar role as Wheatley as he guides you through the various tests.

Frequent map commentator and Community Contributor xdiesp had these kind words (and premonitions) to say about the map:

Quote:
Brilliant map full of humor and genious originality, pairs up the gameplay of Antimatter with the personality of Core IV. Only it's less difficult than the former, and the adventure sphere's lines are more spot-on and fleshed out here. Instant spotlight material, or in the very least the grand prize of the jury at the Cannes film festival.

Download it today and let us know what you think!

Community Roundup: Post-Contest to 07.12.2011
Posted by WinstonSmith • 2011-07-12 21:40
Now that the dust has settled from the Summer Mapping Initiative it's time to start getting back into the regular routine of highlighting releases. You'll notice that there aren't very detailed descriptions for each map; this is mainly because at the moment we're playing catchup and we will reinclude somewhat longer ones in the next roundup. So without further ado:

Singleplayer

Reboot by ColorCubeMan
A decayed/destroyed themed map with faith plates, excursion funnels, repulsion gel, and light bridges.

A Little Higher by reepblue
Five short puzzles utilizing a new element: the Repulsion Cube.

Angrybombs by MissStabby
A map featuring Rick the Adventure Sphere, turrets, and bombs. Many of that last one.

Revelations: Chamber 9 by Hanzik
A chamber with lasers and reflective cubes. Several of them, in fact.

Oversized Test Chamber Storage Area by CrazyGuy
A map featuring light bridges, excursion funnels, and in-map achievements (text in-game).

### Cooperative

Cyan Industries by cementiet
A well-built map with excursion funnels, faith plates, and a few nifty custom overlays.

Freefall by ForbiddenDonut
A visually appealing map with lasers, turrets, pits, and funnels.

Kyo's Testing Environment by Kyorisu
Containing cubes, faith plates, and buttons, this map is based on good timing.

That's it for now; look forward to more Community Roundups. And again, thank you for the continued support.
