Primary Amoebic Meningoencephalitis, or PAM, is a parasitic disease caused by the parasite Naegleria fowleri, nicknamed the "brain-eating amoeba". The amoeba lies dormant in the sediment on the bottom of fresh water lakes and ponds and as the water starts to warm during the summer months, the amoeba becomes more active. While the parasite is extremely uncommon, it is among the deadliest on the planet, killing 98% of its victims.
This area has been infected with the past, and although the water - where the parasite is found - has been drained, remains of the parasite may still lurk around the area. Test subjects need to take extreme caution when solving the test.
