[MAP PACK] Intro ideas?
Hello,
(I'm sorry for my bad english, i'm french)
I'm mapper since 1 year currently.
I want to create a map pack, but i don't have ideas for the intro.
I founded an idea but the problem is it's too much like portal 1.
So if you have ideas for an intro, you can contact me on steam (samditmissile) or post on this thread your ideas.
Oh, and by the way, if you want to join the team you can, currently i have a good texture artist, and me as level designer.

I don't see the problem.
Unless you actually have a story, then why not just wake up in the bed?
-wake up lying in the bed and be carried to the first test through a BTS environment.
-black Mesa is testing teleporter/ time travel device/universe jumping device, it goes wrong, and you wake in the portal 1 bed.

I dunno, I think that such a short game would have probably have been ruined by any other characters, especially one as stupid and ridiculous as Wheatley. Just like how the bts areas in portal 1 feel creepy because you feel alone and the place feels dead, portal 2 feels alive because of the cores and panels, and therefore is not creepy.

That is definitely true.
2 Characters for portal 1 is too much. Then don't have GLaDOS. Only Wheatly.
Funny thing, though, would be to go BTS on portal 1 maps...

And do you have other ideas for an intro ?
An intro is really useful to found the rest of the story.

Yes I saw it and I like your first idea.
So, if i'm right you your idea is, the player wake up in a portal 1 relaxation chamber, and he is carried to the first test thourgh a BTS environment ?

And I would suggest you to NOT do the same as others have done, try to be creative.
Take a quick look to the intro of my map White Room Remix for example. This just shows some parts of a hidden area I developed as the maps' Easter egg. You can also take a look to Mevious' Rexaura where he made a very cool intro using a stasis bed lifted up by a piston to its final position inside of a stasis room similar to yours.
Now I'm making a mappack in which I thought of some cool ideas for an intro where the player, who is inside a special capsule, is taken from a group of them to start testing...
What I mean is that you can do many things playing around with some cameras and titles showing some cool bits of your map for example... try to be creative! 
suspenseful portal-esque music plays, slowly builds up over the course of this intro.
fade in from black, you are in the stasis tube. all you can see is the roof of a concrete tunnel passing by and some assorted stacked equipment, strapped down. it appears as though you are on the back of a really large flatbed truck of some kind.
fade back to black, title displays: "[your name here] presents..."
fade back in, the flatbed has stopped in a massive room lined with large machinery and tubes full of moving objects. robotic arms on rails appear and begin to unload the equipment on the flatbed. the view pans to the right, as you roll over in the bed to see what's going on- suddenly, one of the arms connects to the bed with an electrical spark. at first, nothing happens. but then, a short burst of pain. A slightly automated sounding voice says, "specimen acquired."
fade back out, main title fades in from the darkness in a similar manner to the intro of "LOST": [MOD/MAP PACK NAME].
dramatic POUND sound in the background music plays right as you cut from black. the rest of the intro is just like portal 1, including the glados quote: "your soecimen has been processed, and we are now ready to begin the test proper."
