First off, you're not gonna get any good DAW for free. On the scale of an entire mkd, you'll want something that is capable of a lot. Also, I agree with experience>software to an extent. Bad DAWs limit your creativity. A DAW is good when you can quickly put down and experiment with ideas. Think of it this way: imagine playing a game on a crap computer VS a good one, and you're the best gamer in the world. The crappy computer would have a low frame rate and may continually crash the game, while a good computer would have a high frame rate and run a stable game.. For these reasons, I'd recommend cubase. There's three versions, each with a different price. Of course, if you're still looking for something free, I hate to say this, but if you have a Mac, use garageband.
Ok i no longer need a free program but what paid one would you reccomend and i am Not Betting Reason 7 or 8
I use Cubase, but everyone has a DAW suited for them. I may like Cubase, but you may like FL studio. It depends on the person.
Cubase 7.5: 500$
Cubase artist 7.5: 250$
Cubase elements 7: 100$
Cubase also comes with some pretty good instruments and synths, too.

Ableton (Very hard to learn):

Live 9: starting at 100$

Yeah, professional DAWs are pretty expensive :/ They do have demos though, so you could go ahead and find the one that suits you. Good luck!
There's a decent number of trackers you can get for free, but they're not the most intuitive tools to use. Still, they're an option.
