Overlay issue

For some strange reason, my overlays for the changing signage (blue to orange) are appearing black. I have absolutely no idea what is wrong with them...baffling.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like a lighting issue. But screenshot and compile log plx.

mat_fullbright is on, does your map have any lights?

Yeah, without lights it'll be black, because that part of the overlay is effected by light. Note how the dots on the strip aren't black. That's because they are a pre-set light, and lights around it have no effect. Same with the overlays around the button. They have no light source and thus are pure black.

I had a similar problem with glass yesterday. Couldn't see it until I put a light on each side. Then I could tell the glass was there.

A map if it has no lights will automatically generate an ambient light so you can see. But there are textures, like the overlay indicator strip, that won't show right unless you put a light entity near it.
