The one you use to portal on the other side on a glass it's impressive, i'm going to try it if it's possible

I don't know if all that can be done without console commands or other modifictions, but its damn impressive regardless.
What do you mean by 'console commands'? The only ones I used were bind, record, save, load, and stop. All of those are for obvious reasons. Also, what modifications are you talking about?

GREAT video! I can't believe how many tricks could be used in single player! When are you going to finish the video with commentary ect..?
It'll take a bit more time than I previously assumed, so hopefully within the next few weeks. One problem is Super Smash Bros Brawl comes out sunday, so that may take alot of my time... :-/

I wasn't trying to imply anything negative, I was simply stating my ignorance about some of the tricks you used to get through the game so fast. For example in Chamber 17(I think) you accelerate so much with consecutive backwards jumping(is it all timing?) and so I woudn't be surprised if there was some console command(s) that allow you build up acceleration that isn't otherwise possible. So basically I was saying even if you were using some "cheat" type of commands to do certain tricks it would still be a very impressive speed-run. But if you did all those moves without anything like that then I am truly in awe of your geekiness. How many run throughs of Portal single player did it take for you to reach that level of perfection? Don't get me wrong, I'm a geek too, I'm just not a geek with the motivation to play a game as fast as possible.

yeah that is possible. its not just consecutive backwards jumping, and it IS all timing. some people call it bunny hopping or strafe jumping or similiar names.
what you do is: "While walking forward, jump forward, spin your view around backwards (so you are facing in the opposite direction of the direction you are moving), crouch (and hold crouch) then immediatly let go of ALL direction keys, as SOON as you hit the ground jump. and everytime you hit the ground jump. if timed currectly you will gain some serious speed and distance
i've seen a video about it. i'll look for it again.
i'm not very good at it. but can do it if i HAVE to
