Just found this, a great read for anyone who makes a custom map. This will make it so we can have our maps be loadable via the "Bonus Map" interface, so less-than-experienced users can play them without having to enable the console.

Coulda sworn I registered here a couple of weeks ago, but turns out this is my first post. Given I'm at work each evening, and this is where I do mapping, please forgive me for less than active post history.
That said,
I found this wiki entry a few days ago, but thinking about it - won't it replace the user's normal challenge entries if you change that file? This would mean they can only have one map installed at a time, making it just as annoying as having to load maps in console. I could be wrong - need someone to do some tests.

I'm going to try to play with this when I get a chance, but I am pretty sure the whole purpose of the system is so that multiple maps can be installed. There will be a seperate BNS file for each map which will have the challenges.

Someone has done this on another map (linked from another thread here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... p?t=612396)
It has the three challenges set up, and the map folder includes the challenge script and map and grid files, all self contained in folders under the guy's name. Seems like the setup we should be working towards.

The thread talks about this folder setup, with another guy's reccomendations.

Too bad he's reluctant to say how he did it.

If there is a download for his map, download it and FUCK AT FULL FORCE to see how his folders are laid out.

folder layout is straightforward - he even included a nodegraph, so its a great example. The challenge script should even work as a good example for anyone else working with this.
I think espen08 is only worried about the end of challenge in the bsp, setting up the last elevator as a "end map" function.
