I've been mapping pretty much nonstop for the past 5 days. I'm on medical leave from work so I have nothing else to do.

Hopefully this map won't be too big. It will really suck if it takes 5 minutes to load once its done. I'll have to try and keep the rooms small. Hopefully I can make the challenges actually challenging even if the room is small.

I'm currently working on two maps... one is Fire Chamber for the map pack, kind of obvious what's going on there, and another is a separate project named Real Sticky... Let's just say it's gonna be interesting. I'm never gonna let you down with my maps.

I'm beginning to wonder if this is ever going to get released xD

Yeah, I have a map with four challenges I could submit if this is still open. I also have several ideas that I haven't seen implemented that I haven't gotten around to mapping (gotta love school!) that I would be happy to start on.

It's still open. I'll admit I haven't put as much time towards this as I should have, I have some stuff at IRL work that I am going to try and finish soon, and when that does I'll have more free time to work on it.

Good, now I don't feel so bad for slacking on my map.

Even though I'm new here, if I make a map can it go to the project? You guys can choose weither or not it's good and decide on that if the day ever comes. I was just wondering if I should even try starting some of the ideas I have. (School sucks but I don't care much for doing homework anyway...)

Also, what should [anyone making a map] do for voices? should [anyone doing a map] use the given GLaDOS sayings (ehhhh...) or should [anyone doing a map] just record something and have someone voice act it later?

(as a side note, i wouldn't mind contributing my voice if my map sucks  )

The hard part about this that someone might use a GLaDOS voice in their chamber, and the next person use the same thing in the next chamber.

Is someone going to come back and put the GLaDOS voices in after we're done?

Do we really need to recycle the same 100 lines of dialogue we've all heard too many times already?

I hope not... I get sick of hearing and waiting that the chamber has been replaced by a life-firing course.

Using some sort of custom robotic voice would be much better.
Why not 2? A computer with a split personality, which both seem to cooperate, but in reality, conflict against each other in any way possible.
They need your help to eliminate the other. It's then up to you who you disable.

Both the split personalities should be rather balanced with positive and negative charactaristics, so the player would choose the one who he likes best. Neither of them is truely evil or good, they just want the other one out of the facility.

xD

Would that imply that there would eventually have a split path with different tests depending on which personality you choose to destroy?

(I would give it a thumbs up if enough maps are made)

Perhaps...

I rather see the two personalities living close-by each other. So when you arrived at one of the two, you might wanna change your mind and portal trough some BTS area's.

I like that.

So if there were two personalities, what style of speaking would they be? Would one be a masculin voice and one a feminine voice or would they be the same voice with slight differences? Or would one be very energetic and more human like while the other is completely monotone?

I really like where this is going.

Well, if we do female/male, probably the guy players would tend to go to the female's voice path, and vise virsa.

That could happen. But does it matter if that happens? And on top of that, do we have people willing to voice act the parts? (I'm sure that anyone would love to voice act the parts, I'm just throwing it out there for people to think about.) But you can't voice act without a script...

But that would come after the maps were made. Msleeper, how many maps have been handed in so far?

It would be useful if all the maps were made, so we could "mold" the voices around the map style.
