Mod .exe?
Posted Oct 19, 2008
How would I make a executable file for my mod?
Is it this?
Or something else?

Compiling the source code just builds the projects into exe, dll whatever files so they are useable. This only applies if you touched the source code at all and made any changes.
If you want to create an installer (to basically unzip all your files but with a wizard) I suggest NullSoft Installer ( http://nsis.sourceforge.net/Main_Page )

No, I just want to make an .exe so I can run the mod.
No Installer yet.

When you created the mod you should have copied over all the files (hl2.exe specifically). Honestly, what are you doing making a mod? You are asking trivial mapping questions...you are not ready to create your own mod yet.

Meh, I'm doing better.
So, just copy the hl2.exe into my mod folder?

QFT. The topic of this thread is also not in the charter of TWP, and most of the guys here are mappers, not modders. You may have better luck ... elsewhere?
