Impossible to Find Music Track

Hello everyone! Long time reader, new to posting. There was something I couldn't find so I figured I'd probe through the genious of the TWP forums.

Anyway, the mod itself in this link is irrelivant, but if you scroll down to the video:

I have been trying to get the music from the video for use in my own Portal Map Pack I have been working on... for what seems like months.

Anyway, does anyone know where it can be found/downloaded? Or am I stuck using a video condensing tool to pull the audio off the file?

It's in the episode two content.gcf and it's VLVX_song22.

I can't believe I didn't try just looking at source game music (I guess I figured it was special).

However...

Wouldn't it be illegal to use this file in a Portal Map because it is part of EP2? (EP2 assets don't show up in the editor).

No Valve is open source and they love the attention, well it would be against Copyright if you started sending it to people who dont own any of the games.

Well, they've always been kinda loose on such things... As long as you don't drive the copyright infrigment too far, Valve won't really care.

Sure, Valve may be permissive about using assets from one of their game in a sparing manner in a modification another of their games, because it helps them: free content for their stuff that they don't have to work for.

A far cry from open source, though.

I would say using the song from Ep. 2 in Portal would be okay.

I don't think I am going to take the risk. I think I'll just stick with HL2 and Portal assets. That should be plenty, although I am a bit disappointed.

They give you access to the files with the SDK, so it would be perfectly fine to use the song. Ive seen people use HL2 music in mods for Crysis and Valve didnt really care.

That is true. Hmmm... Well, they did release it in the trailer after all. And I think the mod would work well with it.
