Hi, guys. Hoe the New Years started better at your ends of the net. HAd to deal with a 4-day power outage. Screwed up my commitment on my portal map.

In the mean time, I thought I'd share a song I intend to use with my map. It's called "Chambre One" and is set in MP3 format. The mood is ambient like Self-Esteem Funds, but with better replay value.

Oh, and I have a couple of of other songs with a bit more drama to them. If any of you are interested, don't hesitate to ask.

That was awesome. Very well done. I would give it a Perfect Music For Portal Award if such a thing existed.

Thanks, guys. I'll polish up another one in the next week. It'll be more of a dramatic piece.

That was brilliant! Sounded like it came straight from the Portal team, Naulziator!
I'm working on a map of my own right now and was upset to learn that there aren't many songs (from the Portal soundtrack,) that had this feel to them.

Please PM me any future works of yours, I'd be very interested in using them in my maps (if you don't mind, of course).

Great! I wonder what Hamst3r will say if he finds out he no longer got the monopoly on custom portal music?

If I could have a peep at one of your maps, I might find the right mood. The ones I have now need some good tweaks, though one has a piano appegiator track that should suit a dramatic situation.

Well, I didn't realize how well hamsters Portal music would fit for some of my levels, but I still need soundtracks that make the player feel very much alone and isolated, even though GLaDOS is talking to them. Something that projects a feeling of desolation, (I think that's the right word...)
Basically, something slow, sad, and moody!

You don't have to make something specially for me, but if you notice one of your songs meets the above criteria please give me a shout!

EDIT: The only thing I don't like about the Chambre One song is the repeating 'click-click' and 'wooshy' sounds. They got to me after a little while

Seems I'm a bit tied up on job training (Dreamweaver, Photoshop CS4), God of War 1 and story writing for young teens. I'll see if I can squeeze in some editing on one of my songs for those who need the slow isolation mood. The mechanical mood one is closer to completion, but I'll fix that up afterwards.

PS: My avatar is a portrait I've drawn for one these stories I'm writing. He's quite a character to handle if one doesn't know enough of his background.
Hint: He's responsible for the Tunguskra Fireball incident way back at the start of the Ninteenth Century

I originally meant it as an opening score for the first chambre in my map. The sounds were to emphasize a damp environment as I'm trying to make the chamber look like it was recently hosed down by my facility's maitanance crew. Metal rooms with lots of cubemaps work better than the dryer cement rooms.
