[WIP] GaTeWaY Ch01 001

This is an alpha version of the first map of the mod.
The only reason why I'm releasing this is because I want people's opinions and how I can make this map so much better. So, I just want some comments.

DOWNLOAD v0.5

I know a few things such as you can open a portal on the other platform which you aren't supposed to, but because you don't even get a portal gun in this map, such modifications of no portal opening outside your platform is not required. Also, there is an env_sprite at the end of the map which doesn't appear.

Can anyone give me a tutorial on how env_sprite works? I'm looking for one, but after ten minutes of searching for an answer, it's not helping for some reason.[/url]

Skybox is broke, includes it plz Also, i fell out of the area, and fell forever, you have a leak :sad:

I stopped it from killing the combine dude but he shot me :sad:

As for the sprites, there is a start on paramater. You also need to set your sprite image.

Thanks for the comments! I'm not an expert or anything, I'm just making this for fun, but I really appreciate you trying to help in some way.
I'll be fixing my map when I can.

EDIT: From the top of my head... I know I made the skybox too small, meaning that when I "hollow"ed it, I put in the number "2". Maybe I can put an invisible wall? Not too sure, suggestions would be nice. After the turret you're supposed to go through the portal, and that's where the sprite is. That sprite is like a teleporter or something and ends the level. I'm coming with more ideas and trying to improve, this is just an example or a base of the whole idea. I'm trying to make the first level "beginner friendly". So I'm making everything obvious and let the player understand what a portal is an all that stuff, just in-case (But I still assume they already played Portal). Chapter 1 is basically a tutorial chapter, so it's not going to be as fun as anything else.

Don't use the 'Hollow'-function. Create 6 brushes completely surrounding your world instead, and paint them with the skybox tool texture. That way it will also be a lot easier to adjust the size of the skybox in case you get optimizing the visleafs, or you want to expand your map past the skybox borders.

You should really make sure your compile log is 100% free of errors. Oh, and don't WIP a map if it is not in its first version. (0.5, I'm talking about that.)

As for falling, if you fall in the center, you die, so simply move the trigger to the size of the skybox
