Unofficial prequel to Portal that you've all probably seen but I couldn't find anywhere on the forums by searching... looks pretty cool but I have to wait for like an hour for the 1.2GB file to download off of the website. =P

Old news. You'd be better suited playing Hen's Portal: The Flash Version, if you haven't already. It's much better, and you don't have to suffer through god-awful voice acting. Plus, TFV is a map pack, not a mod...

Voices killed this otherwise somewhat decent pack. Biggest flop until All Access Areas comes out.

Prelude was okay in my opinion. And the voices weren't that bad at all for compurer made, maybe because my language is not english.

pessimist! It can be a killer... If they have patient to finish that project and not rush. But cheers from me, show us that you can do it.

No, that was different (and much better) than Portal Prelude. Prelude was some map pack that had a custom AI voice and terrible writing.

It was just generally terrible and best forgotten. Pity, because it did look pretty.

The average player ended up noclipping through 95% of the game because the devs wanted a challenge for themselves.

I didn't think Prelude was that hard at all, the test chambers that is.
The only part where I cheated was the final bossfight where I couldn't do anything because I was either las0rd or I was picked up and killed by flying debris.

My main problem with prelude is they made the characters act like all aperture was about was killing people. The acting was annoying, but the heavy turret spam in the levels was worse (imo). The game wasn't hard, just had it's "difficulty" increased by them saying "oh yeah if you don't move right now you die".

Yep that was the problem, especially the turrets  It's not bad mod I'm not saying that. Actually it's very high quality modification for civilian made. It's not that easy or funny to make that big map. I take my hat off  It wasn't only the worth of all that hype. I liked the BTS, it looked good and was funny to explore, and the final chambers required more some thinking than reflexes, If I remember right  After all I give it 10/10, I had funny with it.

I think the hype is what killed Prelude. Those guys came out and basically said they had the biggest best mod ever made and kept updating us on what it was and when it was going to come out. When it finally did come out everyone had high expectations and it didn't meet those expectations, ergo, it was a flop.

Mod + Really big hype = rush and a big disaster

The thing that I don't fine fair is that when Prelude was announced everyone was in a real hype. But after it got released and became disappointing, other portal mods (D?j? vu, Project Beta) sorta get a bad reputation and will never get the Hype that Prelude once had.

I'm looking forward to Deja Vu. I looks like it has a lot of promise, and it's being made by someone who knows what they're doing. I think it's supposed to be released on June 9th. One thing about Deja Vu is that Skinnycap hasn't really hyped this one up too much, a little but not alot.

Hehe  We got it now about 70-90% done. We have to make some more chambers and make it looks much better, actually the lighting is kinda bad, but not too much. Also fixing some problems with buttons etc. I had't time too much for it because of school and work, until now at summer. So Skinnycap has mapped about 90% of map. I have done some chamber bases and planned chambers and actually done some chambers. There are few of mine, but they are more quality.

if the people that made it actually made the voiceacting better and have it make sense then it would be great.

the game was way too hard but i have to admire the amount of time that these guys put into it.

i wish this were the beta and not the final because portal prelude has so much promise. i loved the story mode aspect and the boss fight.
