Moving to a new forum

Hey everyone, just wanted to give you all a heads up.

We will be moving to a new forum in the next couple of days. This has honestly been a long time coming, and frankly I'm surprised I haven't done it sooner. I am going to be doing my best to preserve all of the posts and other content here at TWP in moving it over.

That said, everyone needs to expect to have some things getting lost.

  • User pruning. I am going to clean out the closet of old users and/or users who never fully registered in the first place. If you have 0 posts, or you haven't logged in in over a calender year, you might want to think about stopping by or else you might get deleted.- Post attachments won't transfer over I don't think. If you have anything important in an attachment, go to the forums and download it now and re-upload it when we move.- The Download Database is going to be a tricky situation, I still am not sure how I am going to handle that. Rest assured that we're not going to lose all of our uploaded content.- The TWP Wiki. Keep it or leave it? Post and decide.Like all good things in life, the change over is going to come suddenly and without warning or remorse. Don't get deleted, login and post right now!

Sweet!
Good luck with the move, I've moved and/or upgraded a few forums myself, and it's never easy.

I don't stop by much, but enough to see some new maps.

Keep the wiki, man; it's full of very useful information even just for non-members searching google. Deleting it would be such a waste.

Or at least, if you don't want to keep the wiki, give me a chance to back up some of the content so I can copy it to my own server.

Congrats on the decision to move... it's worth the inconvenience.

Please keep the wiki!
Btw can I get added to the "user" group so that I can post what I've been learning to the wiki? Recently been learning about pistons...

Yes, definitely keep the wiki; I may not ever post here since the competition I participated in, but I do send people here looking for Portal mapping help from time to time.

Good luck with the move!

I'd say make the Search-button huge on the next forum.

No really, Huge

Like,

HUGE

Oh, and keep the wiki.

Definitely keep the wiki. There's tons of basic info as well as many great tutorials. Also, I think it might be helpful to make the Download Database "Upload File" button an actual button, instead of just a link at the top of the pages.

I'm the same way. I'm not all that active, but I'd love to contribute (or re-contribute) anything lost to the community during the transition. Just remember to take a lot of screen shots and memorabilia of the first official Portal community website. It was an amazing experience... really it was.

I guess I don't post enough. I've been quite busy. Anyway, I would keep the wiki myself, I hope the move goes alright.

I'm still alive here.
What are we moving to?

Also, during the move, could you change my name to Zedo Mann?

Yeah; it seems odd that you're a test subject AND a test supervisor

I haven't been very active in here lately, but I'm still working on my next map pack. I'm going to release a beta when chamber 4 is done, and worry about chamber 5 later.

Please keep the wiki. It would also be nice to keep the download database as well; people might forget to re-upload their stuff to the new site.
